McGregor vs Farooq Odds
Fighter | Odds |
---|---|
Lee McGregor | +155 |
Kash Farooq | -190 |
Odds taken Nov. 13
McGregor sees the winner of this fight challenging for a European title after this. With the hardware on the line here, it makes a lot of sense that a matchup like that would happen. Both men recognize that this is a huge fight for Scottish Boxing.
Farooq Leaves With Two Belts
This MTK Fight Night has special significance for McGregor as well. He and his father used to watch British title fights on TV and his father told him “I want you to win that title”. McGregor now has a chance to do this in his eighth professional fight and can manifest the promise to his dad into reality after two years competing as a pro.
The fight is getting a lot of domestic attention but will also be broadcast to a worldwide audience via ESPN+.
McGregor vs Farooq harkens back to the days of Alex Arthur’s title clashes with Willie Limond, Craig Docherty and Ricky Burns between 2003-2006. The golden days of Scottish Boxing that both men look back on with fondness. Both Farooq and McGregor will be looking to put on a legacy performance like that this Saturday.

Both men have six KOs but fairly different knockout rates. McGregor has an 86 percent KO rate while Farooq’s knockout rate sits at just 46 percent. Great head movement, almost double the pro experience, and quality timing are skills that Farooq possesses in spades.
This fight will be an intriguing style clash between a defensively savvy ring technician and a brick fisted prizefighter. This is the matchup that European fans want and we are getting it at a key point where both men are undeniably hungry in advancing their respective careers.
McGregor vs Farooq Tale of the Tape

5’7.5 | Height | 5’5 |
N/A | Reach | N/A |
Scott Allan and Goodluck Mrema | Significant Wins | Duane Winters, Kyle Williams, Iain Butcher |

The aforementioned KO rate of Farooq requires context though. A lot of the decision wins he had taken place in his first several fights with his first six bouts going to the judges’ scorecards. All six of his stoppage victories have taken place in his last seven fights.
I see Farooq scoring a unanimous decision win.
Pick: Farooq (-190)
