  • Scardina vs Achergui goes Friday, October 25th at 12 PM ET
  • Who will emerge with the EBU European title between Patera and Valentino?
  • Who will win the IBF championships bouts and emerge as international titlists when all is said and done?

Scardina vs Achergui, Patera vs Valentino, and Prodan vs Dixon are all intriguing bouts with compelling elements in their own right at Allianz Cloud in Milan, Italy.

Daniele Scardina defends his IBF International super-middleweight title against Ilias Achergui. Achergui is on the heels of capturing the Belgian light-heavyweight title and is looking for more hardware but in a different weight class.

Daniele Scardina vs Ilias Achergui Odds

Fighter Odds
Daniele Scardina -1000
Ilias Achergui +600

*Odds taken October 24th

Achergui is a two-time Belgian champion but is looking to add some international gold on the mantle.

Scardina is looking to notch the second defense of his championship, the first of which came in the form of a unanimous decision victory over Alessandro Goddi in his last bout.

Scardina Makes His 2nd Title Defense

Scardina grew up close to Milan, giving him a level of partisan support, but he also trains at the legendary 5th Street Gym in Miami Beach. He trains under Dino Spencer, who has a lineage in the sport that dates back to Angelo Dundee and Muhammad Ali. The kind of wisdom that can be imparted there has to level up Scardina in several ways.

Scardina has also faced noticeably better competition. A good amount of Achergui’s record is against guys with losing records on the Belgian circuit. Scardina seems hungry and locked in to show out while defending his home turf.

One of the more noticeable statistics is the gap between their respective KO rates. Scardina has a KO rate of 83 percent, while Achergui is at 46%. Scardina also has more international experience with some prior fighting forays taking him to America and the Dominican Republic. He has passed every test so far with flying colors and is being groomed into an intriguing champion for people to keep an eye on.

Pick: Scardina (-1000)

Patera vs Valentino

This fight will be in the name of being called the EBU European lightweight champion once the dust settles.

Valentino captured the Italian lightweight title and made his first successful defense in his last bout. Patera is the reigning king and is looking to make the third successful defense of his belt. He has an 8-0 record but the 22-3 Patera has a marked experience advantage. Valentino is also 35 years old to Patera’s 26.

Francesco Patera vs Domenico Valentino Odds

Fighter Odds
Francesco Patera -700
Domenico Valentino +450

Patera has fought in various parts of Europe so he very much has proven himself as a European champion. Conversely, Valentino has only plied his trade on the Italian circuit so far.

Neither man has a particularly mind blowing KO rate. So I can’t see this ending via stoppage, in all likelihood. What I can see though is Patera getting a thorough unanimous decision victory.

Pick: Patera (-700)

Prodan vs Dixon

IBF international welterweight gold is up for grabs in this one. Prodan will have the home crowd advantage and Dixon is looking to claim a championship in enemy territory.

Maxim Prodan vs Tony Dixon Odds

Fighter Odds
Maxim Prodan -700
Tony Dixon +450

Prodan is an undefeated pro with the closest thing to a loss being a draw that took place in May 2017. He also has an 82 percent KO rate compared to the 25% KO rate of Dixon.

I see Prodan scoring the knockout victory inside of eight rounds on Friday.

Pick: Prodan (-700)
