Davis vs Garcia Weigh-In Results

Tank Davis and Ryan Garcia came together one final time Friday afternoon in Toshiba Plaza ahead of their eagerly anticipated boxing fight. Both fighters stepped on the scales for their official weigh-ins.

Davis weighed in first, coming in at 135.5 pounds for the contracted 136-pound bout. Garcia later weighed in at 135.1 pounds. Davis entered wearing a black T-shirt and black shorts, while Garcia was wearing a black tank top and yellow shorts.

Things got heated after the weigh-ins as the two fighters got into a war of words following a lengthy staredown. Things reached a boiling point when Davis shoved Garcia in his chest and Garcia shoved him back. The two fighters were then dragged backwards to their own sides of the stage.

Davis is conceding four and a half inches in height for this fight, and has won world titles at 126lbs, 130lbs and 135lbs. He’s only fought once at 140lbs, which is where Garcia’s two most recent outings have taken place.

The two fighter’s compromise for Saturday’s hugely anticipated fight was a catch-weight of 136lbs. Due to rehydration, Garcia will likely be at super lightweight by fight night. The rehydration clause does have a max of 10 lbs, however, so Garcia won’t be more than 146 lbs.

Davis vs Garcia Odds Movement

Tank Davis opened between a 2-1 and 3-1 moneyline favorite to defeat Garcia, and not much has changed following Friday’s weigh-in results. Davis is still favored at -265 on the moneyline at DraftKings Sportsbook, which means he has a 73% implied win probability.

Garcia is priced as a +205 underdog to defeat Davis, which gives him a 33% implied win probability. FanDuel Sportsbook is slightly less bullish about Garcia’s chances, as they’re listing the American boxer at +210 odds, while offering Tank Davis at -280.

When it comes to the question of how Davis vs Garcia will end, online sportsbooks aren’t forecasting a quick stoppage. In the Garcia vs Davis total rounds markets, Over 7.5 rounds is the favorite at -135 odds, while the fight ending under 7.5 rounds is the +100 underdog.

Although oddsmakers aren’t projecting the fight to end in the early rounds, they also aren’t projecting the fight to go the full distance. Professional boxing bouts are limited to a maximum of twelve rounds, and the Davis vs Garcia odds favor the fight not going the distance (-330).

When it comes to the props market, Garcia winning via KO/TKO/DQ is the most favored betting outcome (-140). The odds for this prop have shortened after opening around -130. This makes sense when you consider all but two of Tank’s 26 career wins have come via KO.
