Ontario Online Casinos Set Revenue Record Of $336.3 Million In August

For the second consecutive month, Ontario online casinos set a revenue record in August.

Last month, Ontario iGaming recorded CA$336.3 million in revenue, besting the previous record that was just set in July, at $330.4 million. Month-to-month was a 1.8% increase.

Compared to a year ago, August revenue was up 25.6% from the $267.8 million the province collected in August 2025.

The record revenue in August came with a matching record in iGaming wagers. Just like in July, Ontario online casinos tallied CA$8.78 billion in handle in August.

Fourth Record-Setting Month Since December

Before December 2025, Ontario had never reached $305 million in iGaming revenue for a given month.

Now, Ontario has had at least $310 million in revenue in eight of the last nine months, with February being the only exception.

Since December, the province has set new monthly revenue records four times. It has also happened three times in the last four months.

• December 2025: $320.7 million
• May 2026: $326.4 million
• July 2026: $330.4 million
• August 2026: $336.3 million

Revenue Remains Up Nearly 30% in 2026

The online casinos in Canada continue to see big gains in 2026 when it comes to revenue growth.

Overall, Ontario online casinos have produced over $575 million more through eight months of 2026 when compared to 2025. That is a percentage growth of 29.5%.

Last year, Ontario pulled in a total of $3.15 billion in online casino revenue. Should the growth rate of 29.5% hold up for the rest of the year, Ontario would reach $4.08 billion in 2026.

Online Casino Wagers On Pace for Over $100 Billion In 2026

With August matching July’s record iGaming wager total of $8.78 billion, yearly online casino wagers in the province now sit at $66.56 billion.

Prior to December, Ontario had never surpassed $8 billion in monthly iGaming wagers. Now it has reached more than $8.1 billion in six consecutive months.

• March: $8.33 billion
• April: $8.14 billion
• May: $8.37 billion
• June: $8.30 billion
• July: $8.78 billion
• August: $8.78 billion

Last year at this time, Ontario had $53.06 billion in online casino wagers. That’s a 25.4% jump up in handle through the first eight months. Should that hold up, Ontario would see $105.97 billion in wagers for the year compared to the $84.51 billion it had in 2025.

Even if the current monthly wager average of $8.32 billion per month in 2026 continues, that would get Ontario to just under $100 billion for the year.
