Ohio State at Texas is the game everyone will be watching Saturday, but it is hardly the only Week 2 matchup worth a look. Oklahoma heads to Michigan after two very different openers, Oregon faces another big spread, and the Border War starts the weekend Friday night.
The A.I. college football picks finished Week 1 at 6–5 against the spread and 8–3 on totals. This week’s card covers 10 games, with eight favorites and six unders. Here are the ATS and over/under selections, followed by the matchups that stand out.

Week 2 ATS Picks Favor the Chalk
Oklahoma State +22.5 and Iowa State +14 are the only underdogs on the card. Both can lose comfortably and still cover, which is the point of taking those numbers. The Oklahoma State pick needs more caution: the Cowboys just lost 24–10 to Tulsa, while Oregon beat Boise State 34–27.
That Oregon result is worth remembering. Boise State covered +24.5 in last week’s card despite losing outright. A good team and a good bet are not always the same thing, particularly when the favorite has to win by more than three touchdowns.
Over/Under Picks Lean Low
Six unders make the table, including five games where the favorite is laying double digits. Tennessee at Georgia Tech goes against that trend, pairing Tennessee -12.5 with over 55.5. The Vols scored 56 against Furman; the Yellow Jackets managed 13 against Colorado. The over needs Tennessee to do much of the work, but Georgia Tech cannot afford another quiet offensive night.
Iowa State–Iowa has the lowest total at 40.5. Taking the Cyclones +14 alongside the under calls for a game with few possessions and a manageable margin. Iowa’s 40–0 opener against Northern Illinois is the obvious danger to that view.
Ohio State vs Texas: Backing the Home Side
The picks are Texas -1.5 and over 49.5, putting the focus on Arch Manning and Julian Sayin. Manning threw for 305 yards and four touchdowns against Texas State. Sayin answered with 320 yards and three passing touchdowns against Ball State.
Those were comfortable openers, not proof either offense can repeat the performance against a top-four opponent. Still, Texas scored on eight of nine drives, and Ohio State piled up 671 yards. The over asks both quarterbacks to carry some of that efficiency into a much tougher game. With Texas laying less than a field goal, a narrow home win would cover.
Oklahoma vs Michigan: A Much Bigger Test
Michigan needed a 47-yard touchdown from Bryce Underwood to JJ Buchanan on the final play to beat Western Michigan 13–12. Oklahoma won 51–0 against UTEP. That contrast explains why the Sooners draw attention here, though neither opener settles what happens in Ann Arbor.
Oklahoma -5.5 stays below a touchdown, while over 43.5 needs Michigan to contribute more than it did last week. That is the tension in this pairing: another stalled Wolverines offense would help the spread pick but put more pressure on Oklahoma to carry the total.
Week 1 A.I. Picks Results
Here is how every pick from the Week 1 A.I. picks article finished. Results are graded against the lines published in that article.
Week 1 summary: 6–5 ATS, 8–3 O/U and 14–8 overall (63.6%). There were no pushes. Totals supplied the stronger return, with eight winners from 11 games. The SMU result is the reminder to watch the number: a 27–24 win did not cover the published -3.5, even though bettors holding -3 would have pushed.
