The Oklahoma Sooners have a much tougher assignment after escaping New Mexico last weekend. A trip to Sanford Stadium brings a Georgia team that already has an SEC road win and has made a habit of getting ahead early.

Today’s matchup kicks off at 3:30 p.m. ET on ESPN. Oklahoma enters 2-1, while Georgia is 3-0 following its 45-17 victory at Arkansas.

I’m laying the points with Georgia. The Bulldogs built a 38-3 lead at Arkansas before allowing two fourth-quarter touchdown drives. That matters more to me than the final margin: they established control well before the game reached its closing stages.

Oklahoma’s defense is good enough to create problems. The Sooners collected six sacks against New Mexico and held the Lobos to 185 yards. But they still needed a fourth-down stop at their own 17 with less than three minutes remaining to protect an eight-point lead.

That is a difficult way to win against a National Championship odds contender. If the offense keeps putting the defense back on the field, Georgia has multiple ways to wear it down. The Bulldogs rushed for 254 yards at Arkansas, with Chauncey Bowens scoring three times on the ground.

The number also helps. At -13.5, a two-touchdown Georgia win covers. I prefer that to laying 14 or more, where the same final margin becomes a push or a loss. I’m backing the Bulldogs to create enough separation without needing an unusually lopsided result.

I’m staying with the Under, my early position at 43.5, and now getting an extra point at 44.5. Oklahoma’s 14-6 win over New Mexico supports a lower-scoring path, while Georgia’s rushing game could help it control possession once ahead.

Oklahoma needs to limit giveaways and sustain drives; short fields are the biggest risk to this bet. I still prefer Georgia to cover 13.5, but my 31-10 prediction reflects a controlled Bulldogs win that stays below the total.

Can Oklahoma Disrupt Gunner Stockton?

Heisman Trophy odds longshot Gunner Stockton has completed 38 of 45 passes for 583 yards and nine touchdowns through three games. He has also shown that dropping into coverage does not eliminate his running threat. Against Arkansas, he led Georgia with 97 rushing yards, including a 62-yard gain.

Oklahoma needs pressure without losing containment. A sack can end a drive, but an escaped pocket can undo the work of a disciplined secondary. I want the Sooners to make Georgia earn long possessions; giving up quick scores would expose an offense still searching for consistency.

There is an important limitation to Georgia’s early numbers: Tennessee State and Western Kentucky were its first two opponents. The Arkansas performance is the more useful test. Oklahoma presents another step up, but I’m confident the Bulldogs will roll.
