Week 3 features an SEC showdown between the Georgia Bulldogs and Tennessee Volunteers. No.6 Georgia (2-0) and No.15 Tennessee (2-0) are the site of College GameDay this week. Tennessee plays host at 3:30 ET on Saturday, September 13th, on an ABC broadcast.

Georgia and Tennessee open their slates of SEC games together in Knoxville. Georgia is off to a 2-0 start after blowout wins over Marshall and Austin Peay. Tennessee’s 2-0 start has come from cruising victories over Syracuse and East Tennessee State.
New quarterback Gunner Stockton has answered every question to this point. Through two games, he has 503 total yards and four total touchdowns. He has a respectable 74.9 PFF passing grade to this point.
Georgia’s top target has been USC transfer Zachariah Branch. Branch has caught six passes for 112 yards and a touchdown so far in 2025. Sophomore running back Nate Frazier has been up to the challenge as well, leading the Dawgs in rushing (116 yards) and touchdowns (two).
On the Tennessee side, Joey Aguilar has gotten off to an explosive start. The Appalachian State transfer has 535 passing yards and five touchdowns in a stretch that has put him on the periphery of the Heisman conversation.
The star of Tennessee’s offense is fittingly running back Star Thomas, who leads the SEC with four total touchdowns to this point. He has split time in the backfield with DeSean Bishop while Chris Brazzell II leads the Vols with 14 catches and 187 yards through the air.
I am backing Georgia to continue its run of dominance over Tennessee. Georgia has won the yearly matchup every year since 2016.
Georgia vs Tennessee Betting Lines
The oddsmakers have Georgia as a road favorite with the total between 49.5 and 50.5. Over bettors should take the FanDuel line of 49.5 at -118 odds. Under bettors should take the BetMGM line of 50.5 at -110 odds.

UGA vs Tennessee Previous Matchups
Georgia and Tennessee have played every season since 1992. Lifetime, Georgia holds an advantage 29-23-2. The Bulldogs have won the last eight matchups and 13 of the last 15. Not only has Georgia won the last eight games, but they have won all eight games by at least 14 points.
Tennessee’s most recent win (2016) was one of the most exciting games of the college season. Tennessee took a late lead before Georgia hit a deep-ball touchdown with 10 seconds left. The Vols answered with a Hail Mary touchdown to Jauan Jennings to walk it off in Athens.
