Tonight’s college football slate brings two FBS games to sweat, with Troy visiting James Madison and Florida Atlantic heading to North Texas. Across these two matchups, the college football player props market comes down to finding the players with the volume and matchup to clear their numbers.
All four of my picks are milestone YES markets at BetMGM, so each one cashes once the player reaches the listed yardage, with no push at the number. I am leaning on two JMU playmakers, a Troy running back with a defined role and a North Texas quarterback in red-hot form. Below, I break down my Thursday CFB player props, including the best passing, rushing and receiving picks.

Tayven Jackson’s 300+ passing yards is the heaviest price on the card at -175, reflecting his recent consistency, while the other three picks sit at even or plus money. Camden Coleman at +135 offers the biggest payout, and Jordan Lovett and Corey Scott both come at near coin-flip prices in roles that have already cleared these thresholds this season.
CFB Prop Pick #1: Camden Coleman 250+ Passing Yards
- Pick: Camden Coleman 250+ Passing Yards (+135 at BetMGM)
JMU’s offense gives Coleman plenty of opportunity to reach 250 passing yards. The Dukes average 41.4 points and 456.2 total yards per game, and Coleman has already thrown for 1,567 yards this season. He went 22-of-39 for 232 yards and a touchdown against Appalachian State, and that kind of attempt volume puts this milestone well within reach.
The backfield could tilt things further toward the air. JMU’s starting running back is out, while Troy has held four opponents under 150 passing yards. This is not a soft matchup, but losing the lead back should lift Coleman’s workload, and +135 pays well for a passer with this volume.
CFB Prop Pick #2: Jordan Lovett 50+ Rushing Yards
- Pick: Jordan Lovett 50+ Rushing Yards (+105 at BetMGM)
Lovett ran for 70 yards in Troy’s 21-14 loss to ULM last week, a game in which the Trojans managed just 47 passing yards and went 3-for-16 on third downs. When the passing game stalls, Troy leans on the ground, and the team has piled up 1,381 rushing yards this season.
That reliance could grow on Thursday. Troy’s quarterback starting QB is questionable, which gives the Trojans every reason to keep the ball on the ground. Game script is the main risk if JMU builds an early lead, but at +105, Lovett’s established role makes him worth backing to clear 50 rushing yards.
CFB Prop Pick #3: Tayven Jackson 300+ Passing Yards
- Pick: Tayven Jackson 300+ Passing Yards (-175 at BetMGM)
Jackson has made 300 passing yards look routine, clearing the mark in four of his last five games. Against Navy last week, he completed 17 of 23 passes for 305 yards, three touchdowns and one interception. North Texas averages 525.7 total yards and 43.1 points per game, so the offense around him consistently creates yardage.
Jackson also has a proven big-play target. Justin Stevenson caught eight passes for 209 yards and two touchdowns against Navy, giving Jackson a receiver who can turn a handful of completions into chunk yardage. The -175 price is steep, but it reflects a quarterback in rhythm.
CFB Prop Pick #4: Corey Scott 50+ Receiving Yards
- Pick: Corey Scott 50+ Receiving Yards (+100 at BetMGM)
Scott has been a steady piece of JMU’s passing game, totaling 24 catches for 371 yards in seven games, an average of 53 receiving yards per game. He has cleared 50 yards four times this season, with outings of 52, 55, 57 and 104.
His last two games produced 44 and 38 yards, before this matchup. With JMU’s starting running back out and Coleman likely carrying a bigger share of the offense, Scott has a path back to the 50-yard mark. At +100, the price fits a receiver who has cleared this mark in more than half his games.
