Donald Trump Favored to Win 2 Awards at 2019 Razzies

The Razzies – or Golden Raspberry Awards – are typically known as the awards for the worst performances in film. This year, the President of the United States of America is in the crosshairs as he and the First Lady have both earned some nominations based on a pair of documentaries they were in.

Trump, of course, was featured in the Death of a Nation and Fahrenheit 11/9 as himself. The former is a docudrama from Dinesh D’Souza, a fervent Trump supporter, and the latter is by Michael Moore, a fervent Trump opponent.
The organizers of the Razzies are probably hoping that by Trump winning this award, the story will get picked up nationally in news outlets and they’ll get some publicity. The other main contender is John Travolta in Gotti, but don’t overlook Will Ferrell in Holmes & Watson.

Sticking with the same theme, we see Trump favored in the worst screen combo for the very same movies. He’s posted at +125, but the only other contenders anywhere close are Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly for their awful performance in Holmes & Watson.
In this category, Trump’s partner in crime is “His Pettiness.” Again, whether you like or hate Trump, focusing on this from a publicity and a betting standpoint, it seems like they want him to win.

Kellyanne Conway has been with the President through thick and thin, and now she’ll join him as a Razzie nominee. She also appeared in Michael Moore’s documentary and will go up against three other actors in the category. However, there’s one familiar face joining her.

Melania Trump, who was also included in clips of Fahrenheit 11/9, has earned a nomination as well. She’s further back at +500 but it wouldn’t be surprising for her to get a win. Conway is usually the butt of a lot of jokes, so that’s why she’s favored and most likely to win it.
Betting The Razzies
It really looks like the Razzies and the oddsmakers are trying to tell us something here, and it seems like a safe bet that Trump will win at least one of the two awards for which he’s been nominated. The best bet is Worst Actor.
For what it’s worth, this won’t be his first Golden Raspberry Award if he does win. He earned one for Best Supporting Actor in his Ghosts Can’t Do It cameo back in 1991.
