Alright, honey, it’s time. Start your engines, and may the best woman win. The contestants for the third edition of RuPaul’s Drag Race: All Stars were Ruvealed this past Friday during an hour-long special, hosted by none other than the eponymous and Emmy Award-winning host, RuPaul. The All Stars version of the drag queen reality-competition, which will see some of the fiercest queens in Drag Race “herstory” going wig-to-wig on the runway for one more shot at the crown, will premiere at the beginning of 2018, though no specific date has been announced yet.

The returning queens — Aja (season 9), BenDeLaCreme (season 6), Chi Chi DeVayne (season 8), Kennedy Davenport (season 7), Milk (season 6), Morgan McMichaels (season 2), Trixie Mattel (season 7), Thorgy Thor (season 8) and, Shangela (seasons 2 and 3) — are, as Ru puts it, “talented, hungry, and ready to do whatever it takes” to earn their place in the Drag Race Hall of Fame. Hand-picked by the Mother of Drag-UNHhhh‘s herself, these queens embody Charisma, Uniqueness, Nerve, and Talent — the four tenants of drag. Expectations may be high, but our nine contestants are not about to disappoint.

Wait, hold on. Just nine contestants, you ask? Don’t we normally get ten? That is a great question, and I am glad you brought it up. You are absolutely right. We do usually have ten magnificent queens to start, and don’t you worry your fishy little face about it! It seems we still will. We just don’t know who yet.

(The Nancy Drew’s of Reddit think they know, but we can talk about that in a moment. Also, fishy is a good thing here, I swear!)

With just minutes left in the Ruveal, host RuPaul left us all on the edge of our seats, teasing that “all ten” contestants had been revealed — though, only nine had been introduced. Ru, pretending to be “awful at math,” offered no other hints on what she meant. Fans have been going wild since Friday, trying to figure out who the tenth queen could be and when she will be introduced. Considering Aja was announced as an All Star before the VH1 special aired, really anything could happen here. We may be kept in the dark until the season premieres, or we may get an early Christmas gift from our Mama. Either way, it’s safe to assume that the best is being saved for last. (Unless, like me, you don’t think it can get any better than Trixie Mattel. Yes, you do, Trixie and Katya.)

One Drag Race’s defining features — aside from the makeup, wigs, costuming, drama, lip-syncing, and highly-quotable-moments, of course — is the slew of celebrities who have featured as guest judges. We’ve seen the likes of Nicole Richie, Dita Von Teese, Amber Rose, Kesha, and Lady Gaga grace the stage in the past. No guest stars have been confirmed for All Stars 3 yet, but the standard has been set. There is a strong rumor that Vanessa Hudgens will be there for the premiere, and a less-strong rumor/hopeful thought that Hillary Clinton will show up at some point.

I’ll take Ms. Clinton, for $400, please! Anyone else? Anyone?

The announcement of the new All Star season comes hot on the heels of the show’s most successful year, after making the move from Logo to VH1 for season 9. Nearly one million viewers tuned in for the premiere, which starred Lady Gaga, and the season earned itself eight Emmy nominations.

Will this season replicate that success? Who will be the final queen? Which celebs are going to guest? Let’s preview

DRAG RACE ALL STARS 3: ODDS & PROPS

SAVING THE BEST FOR LAST: ODDS ON THE FINAL QUEEN

As we all know, we’re being kept in the dark about something here, but we can still feel our way around a bit. Here are our best predictions for who that elusive tenth queen will be:

  • Bebe Zahara Benet: 2/3
  • Adore Delano: 5/2
  • Valentina: 3/1
  • Peppermint: 9/1
  • Serena Cha Cha: 20/1

SASHAY AWAY: ODDS ON THE FIRST ELIMINATION

Someone always has to the first to go, unfortunately, and this decision is made even harder when you’re working with the cream of the crop. Making things even more interesting is the rumor that Ru won’t be choosing the winner this time around — rather, the contestants will be voting for who they think should go home each week, at least to start. We will have to wait to see how this plays out in actuality. (It presents pretty obvious problems when you get down to two.) But that’s a discussion for a later date. Here are our thoughts on who will be the first to sashay away.

  • Morgan McMichaels: 3/2
  • Chi Chi DeVayne: 7/2
  • Shangela: 4/1

Sidenote: this is Shangela’s third appearance on Drag Race, which really says something for the potential and growth Ru sees in her. I have my fingers double-crossed for Shan this season.

FAMOUS FACES: ODDS ON CELEBRITY JUDGES

Like we already talked about, the celebrity guest judges are a real highlight of the show. We don’t have any confirmed guests quite yet, but there are always faces we stans are dying to see. Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is probably at the top of my personal list, following her tweet: “It’s about time. Ladies, start your engines!” Honestly, it’s far more likely that tweet was aimed at the lifted ban on female drivers in Saudi Arabia, but can’t a girl dream? Sitting at the top of everyone else’s list, always, is Madonna. Madge is rumored to appear in season 10 of the non-All Stars version of Drag Race, however.

  • Vanessa Hudgens: 2/3
  • Ilana Glazer & Abbi Jacobson: 5/4
  • Chrissy Teigen: 11/8
  • Kylie Minogue: 2/1
  • Tituss Burgess: 2/1
  • Madonna: 9/1
  • Hillary Clinton: 20/1
  • Sean Spicer: 100/1

GO FOR GLOW? ODDS ON THEME DAYS

If there is anything we’ve learned from watching the past nine seasons of Drag Race, it’s that the runway can make or break a queen. You can be a master of makeup, but if you can’t sissy that walk, well … just ask Kim Chi.

Every week, a new runway challenge is given, and our queens have to be able to rise to the challenge. Past themes have included “Night of 1,000 Madonnas,” “Hello, Kitty,” “Death Becomes Her,” and “All Green” (to spite judge Michelle Visage). What will the themes be this year?

  • GLOW: 1/2
  • Through the Decades: 2/3
  • Somewhere Over the Rainbow: 2/3
  • Under The Sea: 5/2
  • Drag Kings: 7/2
  • Night of 1,000 Chers: 5/1
  • Trollz: 12/1
  • Game of Thrones: 20/1

WINNER-TAKES-ALL: ODDS TO WIN ALL-STARS 3

Getting right down to the brass tacks, someone is going to be crowned Queen of All and we’ve got some ideas on who’s most, and least, likely to emerge victorious.

  • Kennedy Davenport: 3/2
  • Trixie Mattel: 2/1
  • BenDeLaCreme: 4/1
  • Milk: 7/1
  • Shangela: 20/1

ODDS ANYONE DRESSES UP AS RUPAUL FOR THE SNATCH GAME: 5/2

O/U NUMBER OF TIMES TRIXIE MATTEL EXCLAIMS “HONEY!”: IMMEASURABLE

She is the queen of my heart, no matter the outcome of the show.
