It’s Avengers time again. As the superheroes roll back into domestic cinemas in just a couple weeks for Avengers: Endgame on April 26th, fans are awaiting the fate of their favorite uncaped crusaders.

Marvel Studios has been tight-lipped about upcoming projects within their production house, leaving a huge mystery as to the fates of many of these beloved heroes. That can only mean one thing: at least one character is going to meet their fate.

Which Character Will Die First in Avengers: Endgame?

Who Will Perish 1st in Avengers: Endgame? Odds
Captain America +100
Iron Man +150
Thor +700
Hawkeye +900
The Hulk +900
Black Widow +1200

*Odds taken 04/03/19

The longest running characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe are Captain America and Iron Man. Both these characters have already entertained movie lovers for a full decade.

It’s likely that either Iron Man and/or Captain America has a big chance of kicking the bucket this time around in Avengers: Endgame, but who will die first is the big question here.

Iron Man vs Captain America

After three Iron Man films and just as many Captain America films (not to mention both characters’ appearances in Avengers movies on top of that), it seems it may be time to retire these actors in these roles.

Robert Downey Jr.’s portrayal of Tony Stark/Iron Man is a beloved fan-character relationship, but having donned the super suit for over 10 years, many believe this will be his last appearance.

Equally, Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers/Captain America character has had a lot of endurance as well. Captain America has a legacy within the Marvel Cinematic Universe that cannot be ignored.

After three Iron Man films and just as many Captain America films, it may be time to retire these actors in these roles.

No matter if it’s Captain America or Iron Man that die this time around, Marvel fans will be mourning in a big way as they see one or more of these heroes meeting their end. It’s kind of sad if you don’t think about how it’s actually just a movie.

The Four Other Avengers

Thor is the only other Avenger in the franchise to have his own film series. But he’s also so beloved and his character is still ramping up, considering his recent Thor: Ragnarok film helped the studio to make a creative, unique turn. It’s doubtful Thor will perish.

Additionally, we have the Avengers who get less love, including Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), and Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner). These underrated heroes haven’t had enough screen time yet, damn it!

With the success of DC’s Wonder Woman, it’s likely Marvel will want to replicate that success with Black Widow in her own spinoff.

As for the Hulk and Hawkeye, both characters are much smaller scale in terms of fan popularity and the ability to draw a crowd. Both of them may even perish in Avengers: Endgame, and it’s more likely that Captain America or Iron Man will be saved for a near-end of movie death scene.

Having a smaller character die earlier in the film will ramp fans up for the big, sad finish where one of the more major characters dies as well.

Pick: Hawkeye (+900)
