  • The highly anticipated Avengers: Endgame hits theaters April 26th
  • Marvel fans are expected to turn out in droves to see their favorite superheroes in action
  • Box office and critical scores are expected to be high… but just how high?

Avengers… assemble! Once again, Marvel’s band of crusaders will take movie theaters by storm as Avengers: Endgame hits cinemas this April 26th.

Eleven years of storytelling will come to a head here, and that’s no small deal. In fact, Avengers: Endgame is one of the biggest movie moments in recent history.

The Marvel franchise has become a billion dollar enterprise, and it keeps on going full steam ahead. The $4.24 billion Disney paid for the rights a decade ago have already come back tenfold.

Here we outline some of the props surrounding the expectations with box office and critical consensus.

Avengers: Endgame Opening Weekend Box Office Odds – US and Canada

Avengers: Endgame Opening Weekend Box Office in US and Canada Odds at Bovada
Over $270,000,000 -140
Under $270,000,000 Even

*Odds taken 04/02/2019

The last time all the Avengers banded together was last year’s Avengers: Infinity War, with an opening domestic box office of $257,698,183. That was a huge hike over the previous installment Avengers: Age of Ultron, which brought in $191,271,109 in its first weekend. This pattern shows a significant increase.

Pick: Over $270,000,000 (-140)

Over $257,698,183 -650
Under $257,698,183 +375

Given that impressive, steady climb, it seems only reasonable that Avengers: Endgame will bring in a mere $22 billion over its predecessor.

People love to escape, and nothing lends better to that mantra than sitting in a movie theater for two and a half hours staring at heroes saving the universe while stuffing popcorn in our faces.

Pick: Over $257,698,183 (-650)

Avengers: Endgame Rotten Tomatoes Score Odds

Avengers: Endgame Rotten Tomatoes Score Odds at Bovada
Over 85% +115
Under 85% -155

Overall, the Avengers have fared well with critics. Rotten Tomatoes scores for the three previous films are 92% (2012’s The Avengers), 75 % (2015’s The Avengers: Age of Ultron), and 85% (2018’s Avengers: Infinity War).

Aside from that slightly dark mark for Ultron (and can you blame them? That was one of the worst movie villains ever), we have a pretty solid streak on our hands here.

People have become pretty cynical with an over-saturation of superheroes in the market, but Marvel does this stuff so well. And the fact that Endgame is the end of some of these performances fans have come to love means nostalgia alone will help bump this score.

Pick: Over 85% (+115)

Avengers: Endgame World Wide Gross Odds

Avengers: Endgame World Wide Gross Odds at Bovada
Over 2.0484 Billion -175
Under 2.0484 Billion +135

There’s some major money to be earned with Avengers: Endgame. Looking at last time around, Avengers: Infinity War grosses $2.0484 billion worldwide. Impressive, when you consider Avengers: Age of Ultron grossed $1.4 billion.

With more options and opportunities to see them this time around in Avengers: Endgame there is absolutely no doubt fans will come out in a big way.

People love their Avengers movies, and with more options and opportunities to see them this time around in Avengers: Endgame there is absolutely no doubt fans will come out in a big way.

Movie theaters are showing blockbusters on more screens, and more theaters are opening despite competition like Netflix driving customers to home box office.

Judging by indicators like the film’s pre-sales numbers breaking box office records (in six hours no less!), it’s looking very good for the Avengers, even if it is Endgame for some of these characters’ story arcs.

Pick: Over 87.5 (-130)
