  • LCS Summer Split kicks off June 1st
  • Will Liquid sweep the LCS again?
  • Can TSM get revenge after a disappointing Spring Split Finals?

The second split of the year in the LCS begins June 1st, and heading into things the three time reigning champions Liquid are listed as the favorites, but just barely. They are fresh off of reaching the finals of MSI, the first time they have ever made it to that stage in an international event, and are looking to complete the back-to-back sweep of the LCS season.

Though the recent success of the international stage, Liquid hold the favorite spot by the slimmest of margins over the finalist of the Spring Split, TSM. Will TSM be able to avenge their Spring finals loss, or will Liquid once again reign as the kings of NA?

Will Liquid Make it Four Straight?

Despite getting crushed in the finals of MSI, Liquid still head into the second LCS split of the year as the favorite to come out on top. They have been the top dogs in North America over the past year and a half, and come into the LCS Summer Split looking to win their fourth consecutive domestic title.

By this point it’s probably fair to say that on paper Liquid have the most stacked roster ever assembled in LCS history, with legit all-stars filling each role on the rift. Though they have such a talented team, they did run into a bit of trouble in the Spring Split final, going down 0-2 to TSM before completing the reverse sweep en route to their third LCS title in a row.

Liquid were that close to relinquishing their crown as the top team in NA before clutching up and showing everyone just how good they can be when their backs are against the wall. Though they did play exceptionally well to come back and win the series, I think it was more so the mistakes made by TSM that lead to Liquid winning the Spring Split.

Liquid have the most stacked roster ever assembled in LCS history, with legit all-stars filling each role on the rift.

Although Liquid were the ones to come out on top of the Spring Split, I think TSM was probably the best team in North America, and I think they will prove that in the Summer Split of the LCS.

Looking for Revenge

After a rough start to the Spring Split, TSM went on a tear in the back half and made it all the way to the finals where they looked to have everything under control until letting it all slip away blowing a 2-0 lead to Liquid. This painful memory will be the fuel for TSM heading into the Summer Split, and I expect them to dominate coming out of the gates in the second split of the year.

TSM are almost as talented as Liquid on paper, with the best mid and top laners in the LCS and top tier talent in the Jungle, Support, and ADC roles. They have been the best team in the North America historically and despite not having won a domestic title since 2017, TSM stand the best chance of standing on top of the podium in the Summer Split.

Pick: TSM (+180)
