The world’s best female golfers head west this week for the 76th US Women’s Open at The Olympic Club in San Francisco. Play will take place on the Lake Course, which is set for 6,457 yards at sea level to pose a grueling test on those who tee it up.

This is the first major to take place at the Olympic Club since Webb Simpson won the US Men’s Open in 2012 on this course, with a winning score of 1-over par.

Inbee Park comes into the week as the +1100 favorite to win, with Jin Young Ko and Sei Young Kim the top contenders at odds of +1200. Odds for the majority of top players in the field can be found below.

Walk in the Park for Inbee?

Park comes into this week fresh, having not competed in any of the three LPGA Tour events in May. With both the US Open and women’s PGA Championship taking place in June, she likely made the decision to gear up for a grind of a month.

When she has played this calendar year, she’s been spectacular – finishing no worse than T-15 at the HUGEL-AIR PREMIA LA Open, and recording a win at the Kia Classic in late March.

On a track that favors accuracy and ball striking, Park’s 6th ranked driving accuracy and #1 standing in scoring average at 68.50, as well as putting average make her a great bet amongst the top players this week.

Lydia Ko’s Resurgence Continues

Nearly mirroring the career of her contemporary on the men’s side Jordan Spieth, Lydia Ko looks to have finally re-gained her form that made her World #1.

After a winless streak from May of 2018 until earlier this season, Ko has been playing fantastic golf in the leadup to the Open (including a T2 at the ANA Inspiration).

While she’s struggled with accuracy of the driver, the rest of her game all sits within the top 10 rankings on Tour – and the pedigree of high level competition should kick in and lead her to play well.

It wouldn’t surprise me to see Ko in contention for her 3rd major championship late on Sunday evening.

Other Notables in the Field

Two sets of sisters are playing, with Nelly & Jessica Korda near the top of the market along with the Jutanugarn sisters of Moriya and Ariya.

All have been in strong form as of late, and could be considered for Top 20 wagers.

Top ranked US Amateur Rose Zhang is at odd of +15000, and the California native should easily cash in as top amateur.

If you’re in for nostalgia, Michelle Wie-West is +100000. Now living in the Bay Area full time, who knows what could happen if she makes a run with the crowd behind her.
