  • The first-place NC Dinos are looking to avoid a seventh loss in their past 10 games
  • The Kiwoom Heroes will try to extend their winning streak with ace Eric Jokisch on the mound
  • Odds and best bets for all Korea Baseball Organization action on June 21st can be found in the article below

A quick glance at the KBO standings reveals two things right away: the NC Dinos (with the best record, most runs scored, and tied-fewest runs against) are the best; and the Hanwha Eagles (with the worst record, fewest runs scored and most runs against) are the worst.

But anything can happen on a given day, right? After a narrow 4-3 win for the Eagles on Saturday, the Dinos will have to fight to stave off a third-straight series loss.

Here’s a look at the entire slate of KBO games for Sunday, June 21st. All games start at 4:00 am ET (1:00 am PT).

Will the Dinos’ Offense Wake Up?

The NC Dinos have had a potent offense all year (KBO-best 6.6 runs per game), which has often made them a nice bet on the runline and for the over on run totals. But in their past nine games, six of which have been losses, the Dinos have only managed 4.4 runs per game.

But we know the Dinos have plenty of pop. They have three of the league’s top-five home-run hitters and, as a team, they’ve compiled an impressive .490 slugging percentage.

Sunday’s rubber match with Hanwha features Eagles starter Min-woo Kim (0-4, 5.25 ERA), who lost a previous start this year against NC. If the Dinos are going to heat up at the plate, this is a perfect opportunity.

Still, the Eagles have been so dreadful offensively that it’s best to stick with the under on the game’s run total.

Pick: NC Dinos (-205); Under 11 runs (-115)

Heroes Have an Ace in the Hole

Calling on Eric Jokisch (5-2, 1.68 ERA) to pitch this year has led to an abundance of success for the Kiwoom Heroes, who are 6-2 in his starts.

The American lefty has lost his two most recent starts, but not with much fault of his own, having allowed just three earned runs in 12 innings.

Kiwoom has won four in a row, thanks in part to a nine-run outburst on Saturday. With a bit of offensive support, Jokisch should be able to handle the rest.

Pick: Kiwoom Heroes (-200)

Tigers Go for Fifth Straight Win

The KIA Tigers are hot right now, having won four in a row and eight in their past 10. As they go for the sweep against the Samsung Lions, they’re sure to be pleased with the starting pitcher they’ll be facing.

Samsung sends Jung-hyun Baek (1-3, 6.48 ERA) to the mound, a veteran lefty who has allowed six homers in just 25 innings this year. That includes one prior outing against KIA, in which he was shelled for eight hits and eight runs in four innings.

The run line for this game (over/under 9) is tricky, since both previous games landed on exactly nine runs. But if the Tigers offense can find a boost off Baek, the over should be enticing.

Pick: KIA Tigers (-170); Over 9 runs (-125)
