Two teams trying to position themselves in the wild card races open a two-game series when the Toronto Blue Jays visit the Philadelphia Phillies at 6:45 pm ET Tuesday at Citizens Bank Park.

The Blue Jays (83-64, 40-32 road) lost for just the second time in their last six games Sunday, falling 5-4 to the Baltimore Orioles. The Phillies (80-66, 44-31 home) had their losing streak reach four games as they fell 5-2 to the Braves in Atlanta.

Both teams were off Monday.

The Blue Jays entered Monday in second place in the American League East, 5.5 games behind the New York Yankees but had a 0.5-game lead over the Tampa Bay Rays for the first AL wild card. The Phillies held a two-game advantage over the San Diego Padres for the third and final National League wild card.
