Hendricks also pitched in Phoenix his last time out last Saturday and had a no-decision against the Diamondbacks. In 5.2 innings, he allowed one run and five hits while striking out two and walking two.

Against the Diamondbacks in his career, Hendricks has a 4-2 record and 2.94 ERA in eight starts.

Hendricks is 1-1 with a 2.82 ERA in four starts at home this season and 1-1 with a 3.94 ERA in three starts in day games.

Christian Walker is 4 for 10 with a double against Hendricks but Ketel Marte is 2 for 11 (.182) with four strikeouts.

Diamondbacks vs Cubs Betting Outlook

Daulton Varsho homered to lead off a three-run fourth inning and the Diamondbacks held on to beat the Cubs on Thursday night.

The Diamondbacks placed catcher Jose Herrera on the injured list prior to the game with no injury designation. That likely means it is related to COVID-19.

Catcher Grayson Greiner was called up from Triple-A Reno and will likely start Friday in a day game following a night game. Varsho was behind the plate Thursday.

Greiner played in 137 games for the Detroit Tigers in four seasons from 2018-21.
