Detroit vs Minnesota Probable Pitchers
The Tigers’ Rony Garcia (0-0, 2.57) is scheduled to make his first start of the season and face Dylan Bundy (3-2, 5.14). Garcia will be pitching on six days of rest and Bundy will have a full week between starts.
Garcia vs Bundy
0-0 | Record | 3-2 |
2.57 | ERA | 5.14 |
4.17 | xERA | 3.16 |
0.71 | WHIP | 1.32 |
5.67 | SO/W | 3.57 |
Garcia has made eight relief appearances for the Tigers, the most recent coming last Wednesday against the Tampa Ray Rays on the road when he struck out six in 2.2 innings. He allowed one run, one hit and one walk.
This will be Garcia’s first major league start since his rookie year in 2020.

Each of Garcia’s three career appearances against the Twins have been in relief at Target Field and he is 0-0 with a 13.50 ERA.
The outing at Tampa Bay is Garcia’s only one on the road this season. He has a 2.31 ERA in six days games.
Bundy pitched just three scoreless innings in his previous start May 17 against the Athletics in Oakland. That was by design as Bundy had not pitched in 13 days while on the COVID-19 injured list.
In a no-decision, Bundy gave up two hits while striking out three and walking two.
Twins manager Rocco Baldelli might think twice about taking Bundy out of the game too soon.

Bundy is 0-2 with a 4.70 ERA in five career games (four starts) against the Tigers. He has won both starts at home this season while not allowing a run in 10 innings and has a 2-0 record and a 2.87 ERA in two games during the day.
Jonathan Schoop is 3 for 9 with a home run off Bundy. Miguel Cabrera, though, is 1 for 7.
Tigers vs Twins Betting Outlook
Gio Urshela had three hits and an RBI to lead the Twins to the shutout win Tuesday night over the Tigers.
Luis Arraez and rookie Jose Miranda had two hits each for Minnesota. Carlos Correa drove in the other run and has AL MVP odds of +12500.

Twins second baseman Jorge Polanco is expected to be back in the lineup after getting the day off Tuesday. Designated hitter Trevor Larnach also did not play Tuesday after going 0 for 8 with four strikeouts following an injured list stint for a groin injury.
The Twins have all five games against the Tigers this season – all in Minnesota – and are 59-32 in the series since the start of the 2017 season. The Tigers have lost 15 of their last 18 games at Target Field.

Tigers vs Twins Prediction
Garcia looked dominating in his last relief outing but starting is a different animal. The Twins are rolling, have owned the Tigers over the last five years and are the play here.
