Will the real New York Yankees (79-63, 40-31 home) please stand up? Of late, the Yankees are a lot like Will Ferrell’s character in Old School.
They’re going streaking.
From August 13-27, the Yankees won 13 games in a row. That was their best run of success since 1961. However, since then, they are 3-12 heading into Sunday night’s game against the New York Mets. That slide included losing streaks of four and seven games.
Nonetheless, oddsmakers are backing the Bronx Bombers to be on the winning side of the ledger in Monday afternoon’s game against the Minnesota Twins (63-80, 30-42 away). They’ve been established as the -165 favorites. Speaking of streaks, the Twins have lost 10 of 11 to New York’s American League club.

Gant is 1-3 with a 5.26 ERA since joining the Twins rotation. He also lost his last three starts for the Cardinals, leaving him 1-6 over his past seven decisions. Right-hander Luis Gil will be making his fifth career start. He pitched six innings of four-hit shutout ball in his MLB debut on August 3 for the win in a 13-1 verdict over the Baltimore Orioles.

Gil was recalled from Triple-A Scranton to face the Toronto Blue Jays on September 8. He struggled with his control, walking seven in 3.1 innings and surrendered three earned runs. Those were the first runs he’s allowed as a big-league pitcher.

Twins vs Yankees Pick
Minnesota’s recent history with the Yanks is all kinds of bad news. The Twins are 1-15 over their past 16 visits to Yankee Stadium. Their last road win against the Bronx Bombers was a 7-3 verdict on May 4, 2019. Since the beginning of the 2015 season, Minnesota is 2-18 in 20 games at Yankee Stadium.
Aaron Boone says Aaron Judge felt a little dizziness in his first at-bat. "Hopefully, it's something that subsides here over the next little bit, and get him back in there tomorrow."

Suffering from dizziness, Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge left Sunday’s game against the Mets in the third inning. Judge leads the team this season in batting average (.293), runs (75), homers (32) and RBI (79).
Pick: New York Yankees (-165).
