Probable Pitchers
Chicago, a top-four contender in the World Series odds, will send left-hander Dallas Keuchel to the hill. Keuchel is coming off the worst statistical season of his career in 2021, posting career-worsts in ERA and opponent batting average, while allowing the most home runs (25) since he entered the big leagues.

The 34-year-old didn’t look particularly sharp in his season debut, although he did pick up the win. He surrendered six hits and three runs over 5 innings against Seattle, but was the benefactor of six runs of support from his lineup. One positive for Keuchel was his control. He stuck out five and didn’t allow a walk, throwing 53 of his 80 pitches for strikes.
Keuchel is 4-2 lifetime against Cleveland with a 3.53 ERA in 11 career starts. He’s undefeated at Progressive Field winning both of his decisions, while allowing only nine runs over 34 innings.

5.40 | ERA | 2.57 |

Cleveland, who projects to finish second in the AL Central behind Chicago in the MLB win totals, will counter with Triston McKenzie. The 24-year-old has made two appearances this season, coming out of the bullpen in the Guardians opener, and then starting last Wednesday against the Reds.

McKenzie was sharp versus Cincy, yielding three hits and no runs over 4 innings, while striking out six. McKenzie has made five career starts against the White Sox and the results have not been pretty. He’s allowed 22 runs over 17.2 innings, while posting an 0-2 record.
Chicago vs Cleveland Betting Analysis
Both of these teams enter play ranked above average in runs per game although you’d never know it from their recent performances. The Guardians scored just four times during a three-game set versus the Giants, averaging only 5.6 hits per outing.
Jose Ramirez and Oscar Mercado are off to fantastic starts with three home runs each, while Ramirez and Owen Miller are both hitting north of .450.

The White Sox meanwhile, have scored three or fewer runs in five of their past six which is quite underwhelming considering they feature four players listed in the AL MVP odds.
Tim Anderson has been the club’s best hitter to date, batting .393 with 11 runs scored in only seven games. 24-year-old Andrew Vaughan is one of the few bats that has shown any pop, leading the team in RBI (6), and sharing the team lead in home runs (2).
