Combate Americas heads to Fresno, California, on Friday, August 2nd for Combate Americas 41. The card sees a slew of interesting names like Zoila Frausto, Jesse Strader, and Reina Cordoba, among others.

Sportsbooks have released odds for most of the fights. See the odds and picks below.

Note: the main event between JC Lamas and Joaquin Lopez does not currently have odds available; as soon as it does, check back here for my breakdown and pick.

Zoila Frausto vs. Reina Cordoba Odds

Fighter Odds
Zoila Frausto -330
Reina Cordoba +270

*All odds taken 06/21/19.

Zoila Frausto hasn’t fought since February 2018 and will return to the Combate Americas cage this Friday. She is one of the stars in the promotion but has a tough task in Reina Cordoba.

Frausto is a Bellator and Invicta alum and is a very good striker, but her ground game has been exposed in the past. And, Cordoba is known as a jiu-jitsu specialist, so it should come down to who implements their game plan better. In my opinion, I think the odds are way too high for this fight, but I do favor Frausto to grind out a decision, but the value is on Cordoba.
Pick: Zoila Frausto (-330)

Isaiah Batin-Gonzalez vs. Jesse Strader Odds

Fighter Odds
Isaiah Batin-Gonzalez +140
Jesse Strader -160

Both Batin-Gonzalez (4-0) and Strader (4-1) are young in their careers but have shown promise and fought in top promotions. Batin-Gonzalez, in just his second pro fight, picked up a win in Bellator while Strader has been fighting in Combate and King of the Cage.

In this fight, Strader will have the advantage on the feet, but Batin-Gonzalez will no doubt look to get the fight to the ground. He has solid jiu-jitsu, and I think he should be able to get it to the ground, but whether or not he can submit him is to be seen. In the end, I think this is a super close fight that goes the distance but it is the underdog in Batin-Gonzalez getting his hand raised.

Pick: Isaiah Batin-Gonzalez (+140)

Adrian Guzman vs. Cesar Gonzalez Odds

Fighter Odds
Adrian Guzman -525
Cesar Gonzalez +410

This is a huge mismatch as Guzman is 4-1 and his last fight lost to a very good opponent in Jose Estrada. Meanwhile, Cesar Gonzalez is 2-3 as a pro and hasn’t shown much promise in his career.

As the odds suggest, I really like Guzman here and I’m high on him as a prospect. He has shown a lot of skills in his career early on where he has two wins by knockout and two by submission. I think this fight will be total domination and wherever Guzman wants this fight to take place is where it will.  Not only will he win this fight, but I think he gets it done inside the distance.

Pick: Adrian Guzman (-525)

Mike Tubera vs. Paul Elizondo Jr. Odds

Fighter Odds
Mike Tubera +285
Paul Elizondo Jr. -350

This should be a really interesting fight as Tubera will be making his pro debut after a very successful amateur career. He went 14-5 as an amateur and had some impressive wins and finishes. Yet, Elizondo Jr. is 2-0 as a pro after winning in LFA and Combate Americas.

It is tough to say how Tubera will react to making his first walk to the cage as a pro. And, they are both evenly matched on the ground, but I lean towards Elizondo Jr. based on the experience. Yet, this is a closer fight than the odds suggest and there is value on Tubera.

Pick: Paul Elizondo Jr. (-350)

Jose Avalos vs. Trey Branch Odds

Fighter Odds
Jose Avalos -365
Trey Branch +300

This is a fight that both fighters need to win so early on in their career. Branch needs to get back to .500 and falling to 2-4 would be hard to get another shot in a big promotion like Combate Americas. Meanwhile, Avalos had hype behind him and hasn’t lived up to it as of yet.

But, in this fight, I think Avalos is just too good on the ground and will take Branch down and submit him. But, if Branch can keep this on the feet he should have success, but not enough to win the scrap.

Pick: Jose Avalos (-365)
