Hunt vs Perea Prediction

Zevan Hunt brings the undefeated record, but Mayton Perea feels like the prospect that better aligns with the UFC’s current vision. Perea is taller, longer and clearly the better athlete, which matters in a fight likely to have extended striking exchanges.

The powerful Perea has a clear hole in his game on the mats, but Hunt is not the dynamic grappler who will take advantage of it.

The concern with Hunt is urgency. He can be dangerous when he lets offense go, but he often gives away stretches, and I do not trust his grappling discipline enough to consistently attack Perea’s weakest area. Despite being a high-level Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt on paper, Hunt’s subpar wrestling often gives him trouble getting the fight to his domain.

Perea has the power and physicality to make anyone uncomfortable on the feet, especially Hunt. I expect him to win the bigger moments and earn the contract, potentially with a highlight finish.

Ravello vs Cavalcanti Best Bet

Two years after getting dominated by Seokhyeon Ko in a Dana White’s Contender Series main event, Igor Cavalcanti is back for his second UFC contract opportunity.

I do not view either fighter as UFC-ready, but Cavalcanti is the one the promotion appears more interested in. His game is limited, yet the raw power is real enough to swing this matchup. At this point in the UFC’s playbook, he is the type of kill or be-killed type of fighter the promotion wants on its roster.

Cavalcanti’s grappling is a major red flag, which makes Ravello’s BJJ black belt dangerous in theory. Ko exposed that part of his game in 2024 with over six minutes of control time on just two takedowns. The issue is Ravello does not wrestle well enough to reliably force that fight.

On the feet, Ravello’s defensive flaws are hard to ignore. I expect Cavalcanti to find damage early, so I like pairing him with Ravello vs Cavalcanti Under 2.5. If Cavalcanti wins, it will be quick and violent before his cardio gets to him. All 18 of the Brazilian’s victories have come in the first round.

  • DWCS Week 6 Pick #2: Igor Cavalcanti and Ravello vs Cavalcanti Under 2.5 (-190 at Bet365)

Santos vs Abdullaev Pick

This is clearly designed as an Akbar Abdullaev showcase. He is a former ONE Championship champion facing a regional gatekeeper, and the skill gap is obvious. While Ednilson Santos has credible wins on his resume, his offense entirely consists of wild swinging without any setups and very little defense.

Abdullaev’s technical advantage does not mean I want to lay a huge number or chase an early finish. Santos is tough, has only been finished twice, and his wild early offense should force a veteran like Abdullaev to settle in rather than rush.

Abdullaev is patient by nature, and that matters for the total. I expect him to take reads, manage risk and let the fight extend past the midway point of Round 2. With this line, there is way too much value to ignore on the fight lasting longer than eight minutes.

Hernandez vs Guillon Prediction

Luis Hernandez is a qualified grappler, but I do not see the explosiveness needed to consistently get this fight where he wants it. His wrestling entries are not strong enough to erase the size gap in this matchup.

Hugo Guillon is tall, experienced and owns a massive physical advantage. Neither fighter looks especially polished, but Guillon’s frame and range give him the cleaner path. Whenever the fight is on the feet, Guillon has all the power and maximizes his reach with straight boxing down the pipe. Whether he is UFC ready or not, that approach will work against Hernandez.

I do not buy Hernandez controlling enough minutes on the mat to make up for the size discrepancy on the feet. Weak undefeated record aside, Hernandez is likely only getting this opportunity thanks to Sean Strickland virally attacking him in the cage after beating his teammate last year. Guillon should keep this mostly in his realm and bank the better work to score.

Williams vs Monteiro Best Bet

Tyshawn Williams is the right favorite because of his athleticism and explosive power, but this is not a simple showcase spot. Antonio Monteiro is a tricky grappler, and that can make life awkward for a wrestler like Williams. The grappling threat is especially present for Williams against a fighter who loves jumping on guillotines as often as Monteiro does.

If Williams chooses to wrestle, his bread and butter, he may have to deal with scrambles and submission threats instead of clean control. If the fight stays standing, both men can be too single-shot-focused to force a fast finish.

The finishing potential is all with the explosive Williams, but his striking is not yet polished enough to pick apart fighters at this level. Still, in all likelihood, Williams’ athleticism will shine enough to impress the boss.

That combination pushes me toward the total. I expect enough caution and grappling resistance for Williams vs Monteiro Over 1.5 to get there.
