The UFC returns to Edmonton, Alberta, on Saturday, July 27, for UFC 240, where featherweight champion Max Holloway defends his title against former lightweight champion Frankie Edgar.

The co-main event sees Cris Cyborg return to take on Felicia Spencer. The main card airs live at 10 p.m. ET.

The King is Back at 145

Holloway (20-4) is coming off of a loss at lightweight where he fought for the interim title. Now, the Hawaiian is back at featherweight where he is on a 13-fight winning streak, including two straight title defenses.

His last fight at featherweight was a TKO win over Brian Ortega in December. Before that, he beat Jose Aldo twice to win and defend the belt.

During this unbeaten run at 145-pounds, he has faced the likes of Anthony Pettis, Ricardo Lamas, and Jeremy Stephens.

Edgar (23-6-1) is coming off of a decision win over Cub Swanson back in April of 2018 and hasn’t fought since. The former lightweight champ was supposed to take on Chan Sung Jung at UFC Denver in December but had to pull out due to an injury.

Edgar’s legendary career includes wins over B.J. Penn, Urijah Faber,  Gray Maynard, and Sean Sherk.

Holloway is the big favorite at -400, as he has looked unbeatable at featherweight.

Yet, Frankie Edgar provides a unique challenge that will test the Hawaiian’s skills. What skill will be tested is simple: takedown defense.

Edgar is an elite wrestler in MMA, and Holloway has yet to face an elite-level wrestler like Edgar. Should the 37-year-old be able to get the fight to the ground, he could have success. But, I see Holloway being able to stuff most of Edgar’s shots and really use his length and reach to jab, scoring points in the process.

I don’t see either fighter being able to get the finish, but I believe Bruce Buffer will say “And Still” at the end of the night.

Pick: Max Holloway (-400)

Cris Cyborg vs. Felicia Spencer Odds

Cyborg looking to rebound

Cyborg (20-2, 1 NC) is coming off of her first loss since her MMA debut. She went 21 straight fights without losing. Yet, at UFC 232, Amanda Nunes shocked the world as she knocked out Cyborg to become the new featherweight champion.

Before the Nunes loss, she beat the likes of Holly Holm, Tonya Evinger, Lina Lansberg, Leslie Smith, and Yana Kunitskaya among others.

Spencer (7-0) is coming off of her UFC debut where she submitted Megan Anderson in the first round. Before her call-up to the UFC, she won Invicta FC’s vacant featherweight title after beating Pam Sorenson by submission.

Out of her seven wins, five have come by stoppage with four of those by submission.

Cris Cyborg will no doubt have the striking advantage in this one and Felicia Spencer will need to avoid the power shots to have a chance to win this fight.

Just like she did to Megan Anderson, Spencer needs to get a hold of Cyborg, drag her down to the ground and work for submissions. If there is a path to victory in this fight for the Canadian, she needs to bring this fight to the mat and show off her jiu-jitsu skills.

Yet, I think the Brazilian will be too much, too soon for the prospect and that Spencer will get TKO’d. Whether or not this will be Cyborg’s last fight in the UFC remains to be seen.

Pick: Cris Cyborg (-600)
