Odds are live for UFC Kansas City and I’m serving up early predictions before festivities get underway on Saturday, April 26th. Welterweights Ian Machado Garry and Carlos Prates do battle in the main event with each man aiming to climb the divisional rankings. While experienced light heavyweight Anthony Smith meets promising Chinese prospect Zhang Mingyang in the co-main event. Further down the card, featherweights Giga Chikadze and David Onama go to war. Get your bets in early for what promises to be another explosive UFC fight card.

Early UFC Kansas City Odds

The early UFC Kansas City odds see Zhang Mingyang as a massive -455 favorite over Anthony Smith, who comes back as a +350 underdog in the co-main event,

Early Machado Garry vs Prates Prediction

The UFC Kansas City main event pits two promising welterweight fighters in a battle for supremacy. Both Ian Machado Garry and Carlos Prates have plenty of promise in what has become one of the UFC’s most talented divisions.

Having said that, Machado Garry has lost a bit of luster since a unanimous decision loss to Shavkat Rakhomonov at UFC 310. Although, the Irishman is still 8-1 in the UFC with prominent victories over Michael Page and Neil Magny. The 6″3 Garry had won 15 straight bouts to begin his career until his December loss to Rakhomonov.

On the other hand, Prates has rattled off 13 straight victories and is one of the most dangerous and exciting fighters in the UFC. With Prates being a slight underdog in the early odds, I’m backing the spectacular Brazilian.

Early Smith vs Mingyang Prediction

A veteran of 58 pro Mixed Martial Arts scraps, Anthony Smith is no stranger to the cage. This bout will mark “Lionheart’s” 25th UFC appearance in over nine years with the organization. Smith has been inside the Octagon with everyone from Jon Jones and Alexander Gustafson, to Magomed Ankalaev and Glover Teixeira. The 36-year-old has been in the UFC for what feels like forever, and we’ll welcome a formidable opponent in Zhang Mingyang into the cage for his first real UFC test.

Promising up-and-comer Zhang Mingyang meets Smith is his third UFC bout, with an aim on continuing his climb up the light heavyweight rankings. “The Mountain Tiger” has posted 11 straight victories en route to the UFC. Mingyang began his UFC career in February of 2024 with a hammerfist knockout of Brendson Robeiro before finishing Ozzy Diaz in November. Now, he steps into the cage with the much more experienced Smith with an eye on proving he belongs.

Ultimately, the odds for this fight are so juiced we have to dig deep to find the true value. Bet on Zhang Mingyang to win in round 1.
