  • The Miami Heat are looking to wrap up their series with the Atlanta Hawks on Tuesday night
  • Out in the Western Conference, there are two pivotal Game 5s

Tuesday night brings us three more NBA postseason games, starting off in Miami. Brooklyn was the first team to have their season ended, but the Atlanta Hawks could join them. Trae Young and co are 7.5-point underdogs for the game in Florida off the back of a heavy Game 4 loss.

There are a pair of 2-2 series in the Western Conference. Memphis is favored by 6.5 over Minnesota as the series heads back to Tennessee. It has been a thrilling matchup thus far, and the pressure is on the two seed in front of their home crowd.

On the back of another gem from Brandon Ingram, the New Orleans Pelicans are tied with the Phoenix Suns. Phoenix, even with Devin Booker out for the series, is still favored by a few points on Tuesday night, but this is far from a foregone conclusion.

Odds as of Apr 26 at FanDuel/DraftKings

While way behind the frontrunners in NBA MVP odds, Ja Morant is bound to appear on some ballots. The Most Improved Player in 2021-22 is tied for the highest points line of Tuesday night at 26.5 alongside Jimmy Butler and Brandon Ingram.

Tucker Hits Points Over

P.J. Tucker isn’t renowned for his offensive output despite being among the league leaders in three-point percentage during the regular season. Tucker’s 7.5 points line is still on the low side on Tuesday night, however.

Tucker scored 31 points against the Hawks in three regular season appearances. His worst was a two-point effort in just eight minutes back in January. He’s passed this mark in three of the four games in this series, good for an average of 11 points per contest.

The former Rocket’s production has been boosted in the last couple of games by six offensive rebounds. Atlanta has tried to hide Trae Young on Tucker at times, providing opportunities to sneak in on the glass or back Young down and secure some easy buckets. Often stationed in the corner, Tucker has also been the beneficiary of Jimmy Butler’s dribble penetration. He’s got a lot of open threes and he’s eight-for-13 from downtown.

The over is a great value bet here. Tucker’s offense is rarely going to change a game, but he chips on a regular basis, and he’s got several ways to get his points against this Hawks defense.

  • Pick: P.J. Tucker over 7.5 points (-118)

Ja Contributes Away From Scoring

We haven’t seen the best of Ja Morant in this series. The aggressive Timberwolves defense has forced the ball out of his hands, and he’s been turnover prone at points. Morant has still impacted the series in a big way, however.

Minnesota will be happy for Morant to be a passer rather than a scorer. They aren’t going to change their defense for Game 5, so we can expect some hefty assist numbers from the former Rookie of the Year again. He’s put up 35 dimes over the last three games.

Morant’s athleticism has also been a factor for Memphis on the glass, particularly with Steven Adams pretty much taken out of the series after Game 1. He’s grabbed nine, 10 and eight boards over the last three.

The end result is Morant putting up 62 rebounds and assists since Game 1. That’s an average of over 20, which makes it curious that his rebounds and assists line for Game 5 is down at 17.5. Only Chris Paul averages more assists per game in the playoffs – take the over.

  • Pick: Ja Morant over 17.5 rebounds and assists (-105)
