Odds as of January 14th at FanDuel and DraftKings.
Wood Continues Offensive Brilliance
Rockets big man Christian Wood is enjoying a very solid season for a rebuilding Houston team, averaging 17.2 points, 10 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per night. While they continue to struggle to win ballgames, the 26-year-old is certainly doing his part.

Wood has hit the over in points in four of his last five games and most recently showed out for 23 on Wednesday night against the San Antonio Spurs. He’s doing a bit of everything right now as well, showing promise with his long-range stroke but also proving to be an absolute physical force around the rim. The Rockets’ opponent on Friday in the Kings are by no means strong defensively and their frontcourt doesn’t exactly have the type of players who can shut down Wood. He’ll go for 20+ points again.
- Pick: Christian Wood Over 18.5 Points (+100)
LaMelo Picks Apart the Magic
LaMelo Ball is truly one of the most versatile young players in the NBA. He can score, rebound, facilitate, and play defense. But the focus here will be arguably his strongest asset, playmaking.
The Charlotte Hornets star has dished out eight assists in back-to-back games and even tallied 12 dimes against the Pistons last week. Statistically, whenever Ball plays a team that struggles to defend, he has a field day when it comes to creating for his teammates.

That being said, the Orlando Magic allow the 25th most assists per game and they’ve also lost 10 in a row. LaMelo will hit the over in dimes and pick them apart. It’s a no-brainer pick.
- Pick: LaMelo Ball Over 7.5 Assists (-106)
