Poole Continues to Thrive

The Warriors aren’t in great shape right now, going just 5-5 in their last 10 games. They’re also missing star guard Stephen Curry, who is likely sidelined until the playoffs due to a foot injury. That being said, others on the Golden State roster have needed to step up. Jordan Poole is doing just that and making a loud statement in the process.

YouTube video

The 22-year-old Michigan product is on a tear, hitting the over in points in four straight outings and five of his last six. Despite Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, Otto Porter Jr, and Steph being out in South Beach on Wednesday night, Poole led the Dubs to a surprise victory over the East-leading Heat. He erupted for 30 points against a very solid defense while also dishing out an impressive nine assists.

With Curry on the shelf, it’s no surprise Poole is rising to the occasion. He’s scoring at all three levels lately and proving to be a reliable weapon for Steve Kerr. While he only had 16 points in his last game vs. Atlanta at the beginning of the season, Poole is a different player now. Expect him to take the bull by the horns and torch the Hawks with another standout performance.

  • Pick: Jordan Poole Over 23.5 Points (-106)

Maxey Gets Hot From Deep

Since James Harden landed in Philadelphia, everyone is getting better around him. That includes Tyrese Maxey, who is thriving in more ways than one and proving to be the third star the Sixers need. The second-year guard has posted back-to-back 20+ point games but the focus for Friday is his three-point shooting. Maxey drains triples at a 41.7% clip, proving to be one of Philly’s best sharpshooters.

YouTube video

He only takes an average of 3.9 treys per night, but the sophomore is hitting the over at a wild rate lately, sinking two or more threes in six appearances in a row. Harden’s playmaking is getting all of his teammates countless good looks and Maxey appears to be one that is heavily benefiting at the moment. With the over/under at just 1.5, this is a no-brainer pick. The Clippers are also allowing their opponents to shoot 39.8% from beyond the arc in their last three contests. Follow the trends.

  • Pick: Tyrese Maxey Over 1.5 Three-Pointers (-142)
