- Oddsmakers are offering odds on the NBA All-Star Celebrity Game on Friday night in Chicago
- Team Wilbon is favored over Team Stephen A. Smith
- 2018 Celebrity Game MVP Quavo is favorite to win the award for a second time
The All-Star Celebrity Game takes place on Friday with ESPN personalities Michael Wilbon and Stephen A. Smith as the coaches, assisted by Jesse Williams and Guy Fieri, respectively.
There’s a strong Chicago element on the All-Star rosters, as Wilbon is from Chicago and Chicago PD star LaRoyce Hawkins will take the floor for Stephen A.’s team. Famous Los and Quavo, the last two winners of Celebrity Game MVP, go head-to-head.
2020 NBA All-Star Celebrity Game Odds
Team | Spread |
---|---|
Team Stephen A. | +3 (-120) |
Team Wilbon | -3 (-120) |
All odds taken Feb. 13th
Stephen A.’s team are the underdogs despite having Quavo on their team, who was top scorer in last year’s game and took the MVP trophy in 2018. While charity is the main motivator for this game, there’s always a competitive element to the All-Star Celebrity Game. Will Stephen A. be as outspoken on the sideline as he is on First Take?
Ronnie 2K and Bad Bunny, who combined for four points on eight shots in a loss last season, are split up this time round.

Chance The Rapper and Common are set to perform over the weekend of festivities, but it remains to be seen if either can deliver on the court. As recently as November, Chance missed 11 consecutive shots during a game between the Milwaukee Bucks and Los Angeles Clippers. He’ll need to improve on that if Team Stephen A. are going to be victorious.
Former NFL defensive tackle Spice Adams is sure to provide some entertainment. Production is unlikely, though.
Team Stephen A have their work cut out to get the W on Friday night. Team Wilbon is the way to go if you’re placing a wager.

Quavo notched 27 points with nine boards in 2019, and could have added to his MVP in 2018. It’s no surprise to see the rapper as the betting favorite to win a second in three years. A former high school quarterback, he’ll definitely be one of the most athletic players on the court.
With 22 points last year, Famous Los picked up MVP. If you fancy Team Wilbon to win the game, Famous Los is probably the player to back. Common is the son of a former ABA player, Lonnie Lynn, and that basketball heritage might tempt some bettors into backing the captain of Team Wilbon for Celebrity Game MVP.

Picking an MVP probably depends on which team you think will win the game. Quavo’s going to find it hard to win the award if he loses, unless he breaks all Celebrity Game records and puts up 50. That’s a bit far-fetched though, isn’t it?
Perhaps the most exciting outcome would be Stephen A. turning into player-coach and winning Celebrity Game MVP honors.
The All-Star Celebrity Game is for a great cause. Hopefully we will see several shots going in from beyond ‘The Ridge’. After consecutive MVP worthy performances, Quavo is probably the best bet for MVP, but it’s a very tough market to judge.
