  • Only four games are showing on the NBA slate for Thursday, December 16th 2021
  • A great way to get in on the action are NBA player props and there are more than enough tonight
  • See below to find out some of the best player props to bet on tonight

It’s sad to look at the NBA slate for tonight and only see four games staring right back at you but it is what it is. As bettors, we’re seen less so we just have to make the best of a barren situation. If we’re being honest, I think we’re going to make it.

Obviously we have the NFL game tonight on television but here’s something you probably didn’t know. At 7:30pm ET, all we have to do is turn our televisions to NBA TV and we’ll catch the Philadelphia 76ers and Brooklyn Nets. We’re only getting the one NBA game but we’ve done more with less. We’ll be fine.

There are more unforeseen roster changes in the NBA than any other sport. Because of that, many books are reluctant to post player prop lines too early in the day. For that reason, not all of the teams in action tonight are included in the table below. Scroll down to see the lines that are available and a couple of best bets.

Odds as of Dec 16th at FanDuel & DraftKings

Alec Burks Is Worth a Bet

I could have an Alec Burks addiction. I know this and I am considering treatment. But, I may not have an Alec Burks addiction. It could just be that he’s a bucket getter that is incredibly fun to bet given the right situation.

My favorite type of guys are the ones that aren’t afraid to shoot and can catch fire at any point.

A lot of guys were doing victory laps when Burks didn’t get home the other night on 16.5. Here’s the thing though: the guy had one of the worst night’s possible from the floor and still scored 14 points. He took 10 three-pointers for Christ’s sake. Shooters shoot people and this guy is definitely a shooter.

Tonight the Knicks get the Houston Rockets and this game could look like a pick-up game at the park. The exact type of game that a guy like Burks excels. Chuck and duck is where guys like Burks drop 20+. I think it’s crazy that his points prop number went down after last game given the volume and the opponent tonight.

  • The Pick: Alec Burks Over 15.5 points (-106)

Jae Crowder is Locked In

This one took a little more effort to find but the prize was worth the extra work. All the brain massages, mental simulations and galaxy braining will take a lot out of a person but I assure you, it’s all part of the process. Looking for value isn’t always easy but you have to find it and there’s a ton of value in the Phoenix Suns with Devin Booker sitting out.

We have to find guys who will step up and as you see from Duane Rankin’s tweet from the other night, Jae Crowder is locked in.

The thing about Jae Crowder is he’s a home rim guy. There’s nothing wrong with that. We all know people that would just prefer to be home. It’s fine. Crowder takes this to the extreme as he is shooting 43.7% from the floor at home while just hitting 35.9% on the road. The Suns are at home tonight.

Phoenix will get the Washington Wizards who are on a back to back so we could be looking at a blowout. For me that takes Deandre Ayton and Chris Paul off the table since we have to pay for them. I feel safer with a guy like Crowder since he could take double digit shot attempts in a blowout. We only need 11 points here people. I think he gets home for us.

  • The Pick: Jae Crowder Over 10.5 points (+106)
