  • Miami is laying 1 point at home in the Warriors vs Heat odds ahead of their Tuesday night matchup
  • Steph Curry has scored at least 31 points in six of seven games this season
  • The complete Warriors vs Heat odds are listed below, along with analysis and a betting prediction

The championship hangover is in full effect for the Warriors (3-4, 0-3 away). Golden State has dropped back-to-back games to begin their five-game road trip, and have tasted defeat in three of their past four overall.

They’ll look to turn things around in South Beach on Tuesday, as they take on the Heat (2-5, 1-3 home). Miami is off to an even more disappointing start after reaching the conference finals last season, but that didn’t stop oddsmakers from siding with them for this matchup in the NBA odds.

Golden State Warriors Betting Analysis

The Warriors enter play fresh off a 128-114 loss to a Pistons team that had previously won just one game. They allowed Detroit to set a new season-high in points, as the Pistons poured in 13 more than they had in any other game.

Golden State has surrendered at least 125 points in four of seven outings. They’ve yielded 854 points total, the most ever by a defending champion through seven games. After finishing second in defensive rating last season, they currently rank 23rd in that category.

Head coach Steve Kerr is complaining the team lacks purpose and that he’s yet to see any urgency to fix their sputtering defense. As of Monday, only the Nets allow more points per outing than the Dubs.

Offensively, the outlook is a little less depressing. Steph Curry poured in a team-high 32 points against Detroit, giving him at least 31 points in six of seven games. The Warriors rank tied for third in points per game, but efficiency for the team as a whole has been lacking.

Golden State ranks 18th in field goal percentage, and 23rd in three-point efficiency. They turn the ball over at the NBA’s fourth highest rate, and rank below league average in offensive rebounding.

Aside from Curry, no other Warrior has a PER above 18, while Klay Thompson is shooting a career-low 34.6% from the field.

Miami Heat Betting Analysis

Miami meanwhile, enters play also off back-to-back losses. Last time out, they fell 119-113 in Sacramento, and were beaten by these same Warriors 123-110 two nights earlier.

Despite a star heavy roster that includes Jimmy Butler, Tyler Herro, Bam Adebayo and Kyle Lowry among others, the Heat rank 26th in scoring. They’re shooting just 45% from the field to start the season, and are among the worst teams in the league in offensive rebounding.

They’ve exceeded 113 points just once all season despite playing two of the league’s seven worst defensive teams.

At the other end of the court, they’ve experienced a drop off as well. Typically, Erik Spoelstra teams are known for their defense, but this year’s Heat rank 19th in defensive rating. Miami has yielded an average of 121 points over its last two contests, allowing the opposition to shoot above 50% in both outings.

Warriors vs Heat Prediction

The over has been an extremely popular wager in Golden State games this season and it’s not hard to figure out why. This team can still put up big offensive numbers, while defensively they can’t stop anyone. The over is 6-1 in the Warriors seven games, clearing the number by an average of 11.4 points.

Miami fans are still waiting for this team to show up offensively, and a matchup against the Warriors in their current state is precisely what they need to turn things around.

Also working in favor of a high-scoring game is the Heat’s struggles on defense, but let’s face it, outside of Phoenix there may not be another team in the NBA that can hold the Dubs under 110 points even when they’re not firing on all cylinders.

The over cashed when these two teams met last Thursday, and we should expect another high scoring affair on Tuesday.

Pick: Over 226.5 (-110)
