It took the better part of a week, but the #6 Minnesota Timberwolves (49-33, 25-16 home, 24-17 away) finally know who their second-round opponent will be in the 2025 NBA playoff bracket. The #7 Golden State Warriors (48-34, 24-17 home, 24-17 away) knocked off #2 Houston in seven games to set up a best-of-seven clash with Minnesota for a berth in the Western Conference final.
Golden State dominated the regular-season series between the teams but it’s the better-seeded Timberwolves who are favored to advance.
Warriors vs Timberwolves Series Odds, Spread & Total
The Timberwolves have opened as slight -130 favorites to advance to the West final, giving Minnesota a 56.52% implied win probability. The Warriors are +110 underdogs, which equals a 47.62% implied win probability. Minnesota is +165 to win the series by multiple games while Golden State is -200 to at least force a Game 7. The series game total is 5.5 but the over is heavily favored at -205.

The Timberwolves are currently +500 to win the Western Conference and +1600 in the NBA Championship odds. The Warriors are +700 to win the West and +2000 to win the title.
Minnesota only needed five games to knock off the #3 Los Angeles Lakers in the first round, covering the spread in all four victories, including a pair of road wins Games 1 and 5 as 5.5 and 6.0-point underdogs, respectively.
Anthony Edwards averaged 26.8 PPG, 8.4 RPG, and 6.2 APG in a sublime first round for the 23-year-old. Three other T-Wolves averaged in double-figures against the Lakers: Julius Randle (22.6 PPG), Jaden McDaniel (17.4 PPG), and Naz Reid(11.6 RPG).
Golden State narrowly avoided a historic collapse against Houston, letting a 3-1 series lead become a must-win Game 7. But a playoff-career-high 33 points from Buddy Hield plus a huge 22-point, 10-rebound, seven-assist night from Steph Curry propelled the Warriors to a huge 103-89 road win in Game 7 on Sunday.
GSW vs MIN Series Schedule
The Warriors/Timberwolves best-of-seven will start in Minneapolis on Tuesday, May 6, at 8:30 pm CT/9:30 pm ET. The teams will play every other day until Game 4 on Monday, May 12. After that, the schedule remains TBD.
As mentioned, the Dubs got the better of the Wolves in the regular season, winning three of four including each of the last three meetings.

They stayed under the two-highest totals (219.5 and 217.5) while going over the two-lowest totals (215.5 and 217.0).
Warriors vs Timberwolves Game 1 Odds
