Islanders vs Crimson Tide Betting Trends
Not surprisingly, the people are offering heavy backing on the SEC champion Crimson Tide in the public betting splits for this game. People are also indecisive when it comes to the total of 155 points. There’s 87% of handle backing the over. However, 68% of bets are liking the over. Four of Alabama’s last five games have gone under. Texas A&M Corpus Christi has gone over in four of its past six games.
Tide Turning In Alabama
Nate Oats didn’t arrive in Tuscaloosa with the same fanfare as Nick Saban, but he could be the Alabama coach to bring home a national title this year. Certainly, all other sports in the Crimson Tide athletic program take a back seat to the football team. This year, though, the basketball team is making history in Alabama.
For the first time ever, Alabama is entering March Madness as a #1 seed. It’s also the school’s third successive year in the NCAA Tournament, the first time that’s happened since 1989-92. Alabama is the first SEC team to earn a #1 seed since Kentucky in 2015. The Tide have never advanced beyond the Elite Eight in the school’s March Madness history.

Beating the Texas A&M Aggies 82-63, Alabama won its second SEC Tournament title in three years. Turning his ninth double-double of the season with 23 points and 12 rebounds, Freshman forward Brandon Miller was earning SEC Tournament MVP recognition. He leads the team with 19.6 points per game. Miller and senior guard Jahvon Quinerly (22 points), the 2021 SEC Tourney MVP, combined to score 45 of Alabama’s 82 points.
Islanders Collect First NCAA Tournament Victory
The number one and March Madness also came up big for Texas Corpus Christi this week. A 75-71 victory over Southeast Missouri State in Tuesday’s First Four game accounted for the first-ever NCAA Tournament win for the Islanders.
