The biggest game of the young 2020 season has arrived, as two top-five teams are set to square off Saturday night in Tuscaloosa. Kirby Smart has built one of the nation’s best programs since leaving Nick Saban, but the master is still favored over the student in the Alabama vs Georgia odds.

Tide Keep Rolling
It doesn’t seem to matter what challenge you throw at Alabama, they seem to always conquer it. Against Ole Miss, the challenge was Lane Kiffin and an offense that produced nearly 400 passing yards and just under 270 rushing yards. Even with that output and 48 points from the Rebels, it wasn’t enough.
The Tide answered with 63 points of their own. Najee Harris, already a Heisman contender before this game, solidified his early spot in the race to New York with 206 yards and five touchdowns, including a late score to put the game away.
Mac Jones was productive as well, putting up 417 yards through the air and two touchdowns. DeVonta Smith was on the receiving end of 164 of those yards, and Jaylen Waddle had 120.
Georgia Firing On All Cylinders
What Georgia has done since the halftime of their opener against Arkansas has been remarkable. After starting the year in the worst way possible, the Bulldogs have strung together two and a half weeks of dominant football. That dominance has been exemplified on the defensive side of the ball.
On Saturday, Tennessee didn’t score a single point in the second half. The week before, Auburn scored just six all game. With a defense this dominant, it’s icing on the cake that Stetson Bennett has worked out at quarterback.
Bennett had 238 yards and two scores Saturday, including a huge touchdown in the fourth quarter to put Georgia up 37-21. With a cleared JT Daniels waiting in the wings, the ceiling keeps going up in Athens.
Where will the Line Move?
It wouldn’t be shocking to see Georgia get some heavy action early. The Bulldogs have been dominant and the numbers have popped off the page. The Auburn win was a primetime game, and while Auburn isn’t an elite team, the way Georgia won that game against a name brand will certainly raise Georgia’s status with the public.
On the other hand, Alabama is Alabama. It’s tough to see a scenario in which the line shifts towards the Bulldogs too much, because of the reliability the Tide provide.
It’s likely this line stays right around a touchdown here. There may be some slight, half-point shifts, but that’s just about it. This is likely to be one of the most heavily bet games of the year.
