The San Francisco 49ers and Kansas City Chiefs are set to clash in Super Bowl 54 on Sunday, February 2 (6:30 PM ET) in Miami. There are countless ways to bet the big game, but while most people veer towards the spread and the total, the better value lies with player props.

Passing Props

In four career playoff games, Patrick Mahomes has thrown for 1,188 yards and 12 touchdown passes. He’s tossed 8 TD passes in this year’s postseason alone and, although the matchup will be tough, the 49ers have surrendered a handful of big passing games already this season. San Fran has allowed 296 passing yards or more in three of its last six, and surrendered 5 touchdown passes and 349 yards to Drew Brees and the Saints in Week 14.

Meanwhile, Mahomes has eclipsed 300 passing yards in 18 of 34 career starts, and with the Lombardi trophy at stake, the Chiefs will lean on number 15 even more than usual.

Rushing Props

Everyone is going to flock to bet the over on Raheem Mostert’s rushing props, but KC has been stout against the run over the last six weeks and held Derrick Henry to just 69 rushing yards in the AFC Championship.

Mostert’s over/under is below 70 yards at two books, but at others they currently sit at 80.5. That kind of misprice is too good to pass up.

Receiving Props

Once again, a Mostert prop appears to be mispriced. The 49ers RB has just one game with more than two receptions all season, yet one book has his over/under set at 2.5. Kyle Shanahan’s offense rarely targets running backs and, in his last 15 games, Mostert has just 12 catches.

In a projected shootout versus the Chiefs, the Niners are going to have to throw the ball more than they did in their first two playoff games in order to keep up. That brings Emmanuel Sanders into play. Sanders averaged 5.3 targets per game in the regular season with San Fran, and can exploit KC’s defense over the middle of the field. Sanders’ reception prop also looks like a glaring misprice at one book.

Defensive Props

At first glance, it seems impossible to pass up on Tyrann Mathieu’s tackling prop. His over/under is 6.5 at one book and 7.0 at another, but just 5.5 at elsewhere. The Honey Badger racked up 9.0 total tackles in the AFC Championship, and has recorded at least 6.0 tackles in five of the last seven games he’s started and finished.

The same can be said for Daniel Sorensen. His over/under is a full tackle lower at one book compared to another, and he’s fresh off an 8.0-tackle performance versus the Titans.

Kicking Props

In a game with a 54 point total, there’s a very strong chance that both of these kickers exceed their over/under. My favorite, though, is Robbie Gould. He has 8.0 or more points in six straight, and hasn’t missed a field goal since the first week of December.
