  • The Chicago Bears made a massive trade Thursday, acquiring Tennessee Titans star defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons for two 1st-round picks and a 4th-round pick
  • Chicago was in the middle of the pack in preseason Super Bowl odds after their rapid turnaround in 2025 under first-year head coach Ben Johnson and second-year QB Caleb Williams
  • Now with 10 games to go in the 2026 regular season, prediction markets are reacting quickly to this news, with the Bears Super Bowl odds rising

A massive shakeup in the NFL world saw the Chicago Bears trade for Jeffery Simmons, sending two future first-round picks and a fourth-round pick to the Tennessee Titans in the deal. The Bears Super Bowl odds are on the rise after the massive trade as fans rush to react to the news.

The NFL trade deadline was once a yawnworthy affair with few notable deals made to tip the scales for a Super Bowl contender/pretender. Now, just like everything else related to the League, it is a viral event with the media dropping blockbuster news and rumors and fans clicking refresh on their phones so often that the sites are in danger of crashing at the massive influx of traffic volume.

Regarding the Titans, Jeffery Simmons was one of the few marketable talents they had who would yield a large haul of draft picks. When the Bears offered their 2027 and 2028 1st-round picks in the NFL Draft as well as their 2027 4th-rounder, the Titans jumped at the offer. Needless to say, that’s a lot of draft capital in addition to the Titans likely picking first or second in the 2027 draft.

Smart moves with those picks can yield a quick turnaround.

With Simmons, the Bears have jumped a few slots on prediction markets to win the Super Bowl. With less than two weeks to go before the deadline, those who want to jump in can do so preemptively as they seek profit with an accurate pick.

Kalshi Bears Super Bowl Odds After Jeffery Simmons Trade

Trading volume for the 2027 Super Bowl winner is predictably massive, approaching $210 million. It will almost certainly be a billion or more by the time the playoffs roll around.

The Bears are now at about 7%, having jumped a couple of points in market probability after getting the All-Pro Simmons.

The 49ers are in the pole position in the mid-teens. Next are the Buffalo Bills and Kansas City Chiefs at around 10%. The Seahawks are just ahead of the Bears. Right behind the Bears are the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Rams, the Baltimore Ravens, and the Cincinnati Bengals.

Does Jeffery Simmons Make the Bears a Championship Contender?

The Bears (Daaaa Bairsss in Chicagoan, RIP Mike Ditka) sense an opportunity with the Super Bowl favorite Rams off to a tough start, the 49ers ravaged by injuries, and the defending Super Bowl champion Seahawks sitting at 4-3. In the tough NFC North with the 6-0 Minnesota Vikings, the 4-2 Detroit Lions, and 4-3 Green Bay Packers, winning the division could be key to the Bears’ hopes. Simmons enhances that.

Simmons, 29, was Tennessee’s 1st-round pick in the 2019 draft, 19th overall out of Mississippi State. In his first three seasons, the Titans made the playoffs under former head coach Mike Vrabel. Since then, they have plummeted, cycling through the fired Vrabel and Brian Callahan. Former New York Jets head coach Robert Saleh is in his first year at the helm. Cam Ward might not be the answer at quarterback, their third straight misstep at the game’s most crucial position after Malik Willis and Will Levis.

The 6’4″, 305-pound Simmons is a 4X Pro Bowler and a one-time 1st Team All-Pro. He is a total game-wrecker from the interior; a force on the D-line who needs to be mitigated for four quarters. Chicago’s defensive coordinator Dennis Allen uses a scheme reliant on blitzes. They are strong against the run and pressure the opposing QBs. Simmons’s skills can enhance whatever strategy they want to use, whether it’s reducing the number of blitzes against pass-heavy teams like the Rams or stopping the rushing attack of the 49ers’ Christian McCaffrey and the Lions’ Jahmyr Gibbs.

Ben Johnson’s high-powered offense proved itself versatile while Williams was out with a hamstring injury and veteran Case Keenum was 2-0. His innovations and fearlessness, combined with Williams’s all-world talent, can score against any defense.

Expect Simmons, who played hard despite the dire circumstances in Tennessee, to find an extra gear with a contender. He is a Bear for the long term with a contract through 2030.

Before pushing all their chips into the middle of the table, they were a second-tier contender who were working with an “if everything goes right” caveat to win the championship, good but probably not ready yet. With Simmons, they have jumped into the conversation to be the last team standing in Super Bowl LXI at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, CA, on Valentine’s Day, raising the Lombardi Trophy with the young coach, the young QB, their shiny new D-lineman, and talk of a decade-long run of contention.
