  • The Chicago Bears come into Los Angeles to face the Chargers in the Week 8 SNF matchup off a win over the Raiders
  • The over on receiving yards for Chargers RB Austin Ekeler is 31.5 yards in the Chicago vs LA props
  • A look at a variety of Bears vs Chargers player props can be found below with odds and picks

While the 2-5 Chicago Bears were expected to be a bad team this season, the projections for the 2-4 Los Angeles Chargers were much loftier. It was thought that they’d be a playoff team and perhaps even a Super Bowl contender. Instead, both teams are scuffling as they clash in the NFL Week 8 SNF game.

The Bears are 29th in the NFL at defending the pass, so look for Chargers offensive coordinator Kellen Moore to be scripting a pass-heavy game plan for this tilt, immediately focusing attention on the passing-yards over for LA QB1 Justin Herbert in the Week 8 NFL props.

Bears vs Chargers Props #1: Austin Ekeler Receiving Yardage

When assessing the the progress of Chargers all-purpose RB Austin Ekeler since his return from a foot injury two games ago, it’s not been good. In those two games he’s covered 36 yards through the air while scampering for 72 yards on the ground.

As noted above, Chicago is the NFL’s 29th-rated pass defense. The Bears are permitting 257.1 yards per game through the air. Ekeler has been a full participant in practice all week. This could be the week when the real Ekeler finally shows up. He’s gone over his receiving yardage total for Week 8 of 31.5 yards in four of the past five games and through seven of the previous 10.

  • Bears vs Chargers Prop Picks: Austin Ekeler Over 31.5 Receiving Yards -130 (1 unit)

Bears vs Chargers Props #2: Tyson Bagent Passing Yardage

In the two NFL games on his resume, Bears QB Bagent is showing an average depth of target of 3.7 yards. That’s the lowest of any starting quarterback in the NFL by nearly three yards.

With the Chargers favored by as many as nine in the NFL public betting splits, it’s likely the Bears will be playing from behind and forced to pass more than they’d like. But if Chicago averages four yards per reception, Bagent would need to complete 50 passes in order to go over his projected passing yardage total of 199.5 yards.

  • Bears vs Chargers Prop Picks: Tyson Bagent Under 199.5 passing yards -115 (1 unit)

Bears vs Chargers Touchdown Scorer Props

Player Odds to Score 1st TD Odds to Score Any TD
Austin Ekeler (LAC) +320 -235
Keenan Allen (LAC) +700 +110
Joshua Palmer (LAC) +650 +215
Gerald Everett (LAC) +1300 +235
Donald Parham Jr (LAC) +1300 +250
Quentin Johnson (LAC) +1300 +245
Joshua Kelley (LAC) +1300 +250
DJ Moore (CHI) +1400 +175
Roschon Johnson (CHI) +1500 +210
D’Onta Foreman (CHI) +1500 +200

Chargers dual-threat RB Ekeler owns the shortest anytime touchdown-scorer odds in touchdown prop bets for this game of -235 and is a +320 favorite to score the first touchdown of the game in the Bears vs Chargers odds.

Bears vs Chargers Props #3: Joshua Palmer Anytime Touchdown

In Jaylon Johnson, the Bears suit up an elite CB. But he’ll be assigned to cover Keenan Allen. It will be rookie Tyrique Stevenson deemed with the task of halting Joshua Palmer and that doesn’t bode well for Chicago.

Stevenson has already been burned for five TDs this season. Opposition QBs are displaying a 66.7% completion percentage and a QBR of 123.1 when attacking the rookie CB.

  • Bears vs Chargers Prop Picks: Joshua Palmer Anytime Touchdown Scorer +215 (1 unit)
