  • Read on for our best NFL parlays and teasers for Week 5

We’re now one month into the NFL season and it’s still hard to quite know what you’re getting with some teams. We do know the Vikings can’t defend and the Steelers have no offense. We also know the Dolphins, Lions and 49ers are all somewhere from good to really good. We have plays either on or against all of the above teams in this week’s best Week 5 NFL parlays and teasers.

Last week our NFL parlays and teasers split at 1-1, winning the parlay, but unfortunately, we’d written up the Browns as part of the teaser prior to the news that Deshaun Watson was unlikely to play. He did not. The Browns did not win or cover and our teaser landed in the L column. Season record: 3-5. -2.20 units.

NFL Week 5 Parlay Picks

We’re backing the road team Ravens in the AFC North rivalry with Pittsburgh, and banking on Patrick Mahomes sending the Vikings to 1-4 as we ride with the Ravens and Chiefs in our Week 5 parlay picks.

Ravens vs Steelers

  • Pick: Ravens

The Ravens just played against the Browns backup quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson last week with Watson injured. They held him to 123 yards and picked him off three times and versus one of the top defenses in the league, they put up 28 points and won 28-3.

They almost looked set to play another backup this week in Mitch Trubisky of the Steelers. Starter Kenny Pickett was questionable with a bone bruise on his knee but has been practicing and says he’ll be playing this weekend.

But really it doesn’t matter who Pittsburgh trots out there. Pickett wasn’t playing well when healthy, way down in the completion percentage rankings at 60.0-percent. So I can’t imagine a banged up Pickett will turn around this Steelers offense. The Steelers offense is tied in 25th averaging 15.5 PPG and is 27th in yards per play.

And their typically strong defense is only 23rd giving up 25 PPG. Defensively, against the pass they’re 26th and against the rush they’re 29th.

I’m not sure I’m convinced the Ravens are really any good. They’re 3-1 but played a rookie QB in CJ Stroud, an injured Joe Burrow, lost to the Colts backup and then played another rookie QB last week.

I do know they put up 28 points last week. This season in 15 red zone possessions, the Ravens have scored 12 TDs—that’s impressive. But then when John Harbaugh and Mike Tomlin go head-to-head, the underdog is 22-5-3 all-time. The underdog has also covered in 11 straight games. Well good thing I’m not asking Baltimore to cover, just simply win straight up to start off my parlays and teasers picks.

Chiefs vs Vikings

  • Pick: Chiefs

The Vikings come into this one at 1-3 and third in the NFC North. That one win came against a Panthers team that is 0-4 and playing with a rookie quarterback in Bryce Young.

The Vikings offense hasn’t been the problem. They’re 16th in PPG and Kirk Cousins is third in QB passing yards and first in touchdowns. He has been sacked ten times but even that comes in at just the 14th most. After only throwing 1 INT in the first two games, he has thrown three in the past two.

That’s the passing offense. The rushing offense is barely worth mentioning as they attempt the fewest carries per game.

On defense, they’re 21st in passing yards allowed per game, 15th in rushing yards allowed and 19th in points allowed per game.

After dropping the season opener versus Detroit, the Chiefs are 3-0, though just squeaked by the Jets 23-20 last week. Still, this Vikings team is a team that is fun to bet for totals as they can score but also give up points. But even at that they are 3-1 to the Under. They’re also -8 in turnover differential. That propensity to play sloppy football just doesn’t look like a recipe for upsetting the champs to me.

NFL Teaser Picks Today

Matchup Pick (Teaser Odds)
Giants vs Dolphins Dolphins -2.5 (-470)
Panthers vs Lions Lions -2.5 (-398)
Cowboys vs 49ers 49ers +4.5 (-375)
TOTAL ODDS -109

In our Week 5 teaser picks we’ve adjusted Miami from -11 to -2.5, the Lions from -10 to -2.5 and San Francisco from -3.5 favorites over to 4.5-point underdogs to get -109 teaser odds.

NFL Week 5 Teaser Picks

NFL betting apps allow you to create many types of bets. One is a teaser. If you’re wondering, ‘What is a teaser bet?”, well a teaser allows you to add or subtract points from the pointspread for almost any amount of points. Need a refresher on NFL spread betting explained? We have you covered.

Whether you’re betting the big favorites down to a shorter price, or adding some points to an underdog to give you some extra protection, the options are endless and you can practically pick any spread you want when it comes to how to bet on NFL games. when teasing or choosing alternate spreads.

Giants vs Dolphins

  • Pick: Dolphins -2.5

This doesn’t need too much explaining. The Giants are coming in off a short week and travelling to face the league’s highest scoring offense in Miami. That short week is because they played on Monday Night Football at home to the Seahawks and got embarrassed 24-3.

Daniel Jones got sacked 11 times, threw two interceptions and the Giants lost a fumble. But it’s hardly they’re first poor performance as they’ve also lost 30-12 and 40-0. They beat the Cards 31-28 but were down 20-0 at one point.

Miami may have had a wake-up call against Buffalo last week losing 48-20, but this Fins team should regroup and shred a Giants defense that gives up the third-most points per game (30.5). Miami are 11-point favorites but we’ll take them in our teaser picks at -2.5.

Panthers vs Lions

  • Pick: Lions -2.5

This is a similar idea here with this game as well. The Lions are also heavy favorites of 10-points. They’re 3-1, while the Panthers are 0-4.

And while everyone is hoping Bryce Young is the future in Carolina, his career hasn’t gotten off to a great start. In three games he’s only thrown for 200+ yards once, and he has only two touchdowns to go with two interceptions. He’s also been sacked 11 times.

Carolina is only scoring 16.8 PPG (24th), while giving up 25.5 (25th) and that will be tough to reverse versus the Lions that have the eighth-highest scoring offense averaging 26.5 PPG. We’ll also bet down the Lions to -2.5 in our teaser picks.

Cowboys vs 49ers

  • Pick: 49ers +4.5

Both teams are off impressive wins. Dallas dominated New England 38-3 handing Bill Belichick his worst loss with the Patriots.

San Fran won 35-16 over Arizona last week.

But only one of them have been consistent. Dallas lost to the Cardinals. And their two other wins came against the hapless Giants and Jets. The 49ers are the epitome of consistency, meanwhile, at 4-0 this season and at 16-1 in their past 17 games. Included in that run was a 19-12 Divisional Round Playoff win over these Cowboys last season, also played in San Fran. No one has proved capable of stopping the 49ers yet and they’ve won by 23, 7, 18 and 19 points. Maybe Dallas gets some playoff revenge, but even if they do, it won’t be by much. So 49ers at +4.5 looks good to round out our Week 5 NFL parlays and teasers.
