Week 5 Passing Prop – Tua Tagovailoa Passing Yards

New York will need a much better performance than what they showed last week and really what they’ve shown all season if they hope to slow down Tua Tagovailoa.

The Giants were non-competitive on Monday Night Football losing 24-3 at home to the Seahawks.

They’ve also lost 40-0 and 30-12. They have one win, 31-28 over Arizona, but that required a wild comeback after being down 20-0.

The Giants are somehow 15th in passing yards allowed, but add up all those points against and they’re 30th allowing 30.5 per game. Now here come the Dolphins whose 37.5 PPG is the highest average in the NFL.

Tua and the Fins got whacked in Buffalo last week losing 48-20. But now they come home and play a Giants team off a short week.

  • NFL Player Prop Picks: Tua Tagovailoa over 283.5 passing yards (-115); risk 1 unit at DraftKings

Week 5 Passing Prop – Patrick Mahomes Completions

The Vikings have allowed the sixth-highest completion percentage to opposing QBs all-time through four weeks of play.

So far Baker Mayfield was 21/34 (173 yards), Jalen Hurts 18/23 (193 yards), Justin Herbert 40/47 (405 yards) plus Keenan Allen 1/1 (49) and last week Bryce Young was 25/32 (204).

Patrick Mahomes has completed passes of 21/39, 29/41, 24/33 and 18/30.

The Vikings attempt the third-most passing plays in the league while Kansas City the seventh-most. If this turns into a shootout, surely Mahomes racks up the completions.

  • NFL Player Prop Picks: Patrick Mahomes over 25.5 completions (+100); risk 1 unit at DraftKings

Week 5 Rushing Prop – James Connor Rushing Yards

The Arizona Cardinals have been much better than anyone would have expected and so has running back James Connor. Connor is third in league rushing with 318 yards after rushing for 62, 106, 98 and 52 yards in the first four weeks.

This week he gets a Bengals defense that gives up 148.5 rushing yards per game (29th) and 5.1 yards per rush (30th).

Last week Cincinnati allowed Derrick Henry to run for 122 yards in their 27-3 loss.

Joe Burrow is struggling to move out of the pocket and the Bengals offense spends little time with the ball. They’re 25th in plays per game, 24th in time of possession, have only had ten plays go for 15+ yards, have punted the most and have scored the least percentage of touchdowns on their offensive drives.

My point here is that if Cincy continues to have zero offense, Connor should get plenty of touches and have every opportunity to go over his rushing total for our Week 5 NFL player props.

  • NFL Player Prop Picks: James Connor over 58.5 rushing yards (-120); risk 1 unit at DraftKings

Week 5 Receiving Prop – Dalton Schultz Receiving Yards

Atlanta has struggled defending tight ends this season. The 226 yards they’ve given up to the position ranks 25th and the 27 receptions they’ve allowed to tight ends ranks 31st.

Versus Atlanta in Week 1, Carolina’s Hayden Hurst caught five passes for 41 yards and 1 TD. In Week 2 Luke Musgrave had two catches and 25 yards for Green Bay, in Week 3 Sam LaPorta caught eight passes for 84 yards and score and finally in Week 4 Evan Engram caught seven balls thrown his way for 59 yards.

So for our Week 5 NFL player props let’s look the way of Houston tight end Dalton Schulz to find success as well.

Schultz hasn’t lit up the passing stats so far with only 89 yards and one touchdown through four games, though he has finished with three-plus catches in 3/4 games though.

If he can pull down a few passes again this week, he could put up some similar numbers to previous tight ends against the Falcons and win us this Week 5 player prop.

  • NFL Player Prop Picks: Dalton Schulz over 28.5 receiving yards (+100); risk 1 unit at DraftKings

Week 5 Receiving Prop – Puka Nacua Receiving Yards

Rams rookie Puka Nacua has set records with the most receptions (39) and yards (501) through four games and also caught his first NFL touchdown last week, which turned out to be the winning score in overtime.

Nacua has had one “off” week where he only had 72 yards against the Bengals but otherwise has put up yardage numbers of 119, 147 and 163.

The Eagles pass defense hasn’t been great ranking 27th in passing yards allowed per game so far.

Stafford has been dealing with a hip bruise but is expected to play, and there’s an outside shot the Rams offense could welcome back Cooper Kupp who has returned to practice. Kupp or no Kupp, the Rams attempt the most passes in the league and there should be plenty of balls, passes and yards for Nucua once again.

  • NFL Player Prop Picks: Puka Nacua over 64.5 receiving yards (-115); risk 1 unit at DraftKings

Week 5 Touchdown Props – Tyreek Hill

Let’s break down our top touchdown prop bets for Week 5 here.

Earlier we targeted Tua in our Week 5 props for passing yards and I’m a big believer that it only makes sense to tie in one of his favorite targets into the other NFL Week 5 player props in some way as well.

The Giants are giving up 2.8 touchdowns per game (tied 24th) and the 122 points they’ve allowed is only better than the Bears and Broncos entering Week 5.

It would be an odd day to not see Miami hang a big number on the G-Men and even odder if at least one of those scores didn’t go the way of Tyreek Hill who has four touchdowns on the the year and has found the endzone in 3/4 games.

  • NFL Player Prop Picks: Tyreek Hill anytime touchdown (-155); risk 1 unit at DraftKings
