Derek Carr Over 1.5 TD Passes

Las Vegas is currently a 7-point favorite, and money has been flooding in on them per the Raiders vs Rams public betting splits.

If Las Vegas is going to live up to its billing as favorites, they’d be wise to attack LA through the air. The Rams rank 27th per DVOA versus the pass and just coughed up 367 passing yards and 3 TD to Geno Smith last week.

Derek Carr Passing Stats – Last 5 Games

CMP-ATT YDS TD INT
16-30 250 2 1
25-36 295 3 2
23-37 307 2 0
24-38 248 2 0
21-36 259 2 0

LA’s pass rush is virtually non-existent due to the absence of Aaron Donald, which means Derek Carr is going to have all day to pick them apart. Carr has posted multi-passing touchdown performances in five straight outings, and has tossed 5 TD in his past two starts.

He has nine two-touchdown games on his resume so far this season, while Los Angeles boasts the league’s 13th worse coverage unit. Not s

Cam Akers Over 39.5 Rushing Yards

LA may struggle badly against the pass, but Las Vegas is beatable on the ground and through the air. The Raiders rank 31st on defense per DVOA, and are a bottom-11 run stopping unit. That sets up favorably for Cam Akers, who should be in line for heavy volume due to the Rams shaky QB situation.

John Wolford will be a game-time decision per the Raiders vs Rams injury report, and if he can’t go Baker Mayfield will start. Mayfield was just signed on Tuesday, meaning his knowledge of the playbook will be limited.

Akers returned to a feature role last week, amassing 60 rushing yards on 17 carries. It’s the second time he’s reached 60 yards in his past three games, out carrying backup Kyren Williams 39-to-18 during that stretch.

Las Vegas meanwhile, has surrendered an average of 64 yards to the past four feature RB’s they’ve faced. Their lack of defensive efficiency against both the pass and the run is a major factor one of our experts is backing LA in the Raiders vs Rams picks.

Game Total Over 37.5

With both teams having favorable matchups to attack on offense, we should expect a fair share of points to be scored. Las Vegas contests have hit the over at the eighth highest rate in the league, while all but one of their games have eclipsed 42 points.

We don’t need to get this game over 42 points for this leg of the parlay to hit, just 37.5. LA on the other hand, has seen three of its past four games sail over the total. They’re 2-1 to the over without Stafford this season, scoring at least 20 points twice, against much tougher defenses than the Raiders.
