Thursday Night Football heads to Arlington as the Dallas Cowboys host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at AT&T Stadium (8:15 PM ET, Amazon Prime Video) in a matchup ripe with compelling market disparities.
On the Kalshi prediction boards, two standout positions headline the card: Over 48.5 total points trading at an even 50¢, and Tampa Bay priced at 56¢ to record at least two team sacks. By pairing Dallas’ relentless, high-octane scoring environment with Todd Bowles’ pressure-heavy defensive scheme, these two picks offer a synchronized attack on how this NFC clash is set to unfold.
Buccaneers vs Cowboys Predictions & Picks
Prices from Kalshi with equivalent American odds in parentheses.
Game-Total Prediction: Over 48.5 (50¢ / +100 at Kalshi)
At an even-money price of 50¢, the market is pricing this total like a coin flip despite Dallas producing the highest game totals in football. The Cowboys enter Week 5 with a spotless 4-0 record to the over, with their games generating combined scores of 48, 57, 65, and 64 points. Averaging 58.5 total game points, Dallas has cleared this 48.5 threshold by at least 8.5 points in each of their last three outings.
Dak Prescott and the Dallas offense have found an elite groove, hanging 37 points on Washington, 31 on Baltimore, and 34 on Houston. Inside the climate-controlled dome of AT&T Stadium on fast turf, there are no inclement weather hurdles to throttle down Dallas’ pace or scoring ceiling.
The other half of the total equation belongs to a generous Cowboys defense that has surrendered 28.0 points per game to opponents. They yielded 28 to the Giants, 20 to the Commanders, 34 to the Ravens, and 30 to the Texans. While rookie quarterback Jalon Daniels is making just his second career NFL start in place of the injured Baker Mayfield, Dallas has allowed sustained drives and explosive plays to every scheme faced.
Daniels proved in Week 4 against Green Bay that he brings real dual-threat playmaking to the table, completing 19 of 27 throws while leading the team with 55 rushing yards. If Dallas hits its baseline of 30-plus points, the Buccaneers only need to muster 19 to push this contest over the number, a threshold well within reach against this vulnerable Dallas secondary.
Dallas, in particular, has struggled to contain mobile quarterbacks. Jaxson Dart, Jayden Daniels (and Marcus Mariota), and Lamar Jackson had key runs to extend drives through three weeks. While not a mobile quarterback, C.J. Stroud shredded the Dallas defense as well.
Team Prop: Tampa Bay 2+ Sacks (56¢ / -127 at Kalshi)
At 56¢, the market asks for at least two sacks from a defense facing an offense that is throwing the football at a frantic rate. Prescott’s passing volume has climbed in consecutive weeks from 31 attempts against Washington, to 40 attempts against Baltimore, to 45 attempts against Houston. With that massive increase in dropbacks, the Cowboys’ offensive line has predictably allowed mounting backfield penetration.
Dallas surrendered two sacks to the Commanders, one sack to the Ravens, and three sacks to the Texans, giving up six sacks over their last three contests for an even average of two sacks conceded per game.
Tampa Bay’s pass rush already reached multiple sacks in two of four games this season, highlighted by three sacks against Minnesota and two against Cleveland. Todd Bowles creates consistent chaos by attacking from all three levels of the defense. Vita Vea provides push through the interior, while edge rusher David Walker leads the team with two sacks and two quarterback hits. Contributions from veterans like Anthony Nelson, A’Shawn Robinson, and Alex Anzalone, along with blitz packages featuring Antoine Winfield Jr, and Tykee Smith, routinely confuse protection slides.
With Dallas projected to drop back 35 to 45 times, Tampa Bay only needs to finish on roughly four to five percent of those dropbacks to hit the two-sack mark, making 56¢ a compelling investment.
TB vs DAL Closing Odds for TNF
At the listed 20¢ Tampa Bay moneyline price, a $1 stake would pay $5 total ($4 net profit) if it wins, while Dallas at 80¢ would pay $1.25 total ($0.25 net).
For the spread and total, a 50¢ contract would pay $2 total ($1 net), and a 51¢ contract about $1.96 total (about $0.96 net), if the selection wins.
