For the ninth time in NFL playoff history, the Cowboys will clash with the 49ers. That’s the most postseason meetings between any two franchises, and Sunday will mark the second straight year these two storied rivals have squared off in the playoffs. Read on for an analysis of some Cowboys vs 49ers props.

Last year’s result went the Niners’ way in Dallas, and now San Francisco takes its turn as host in the Divisional Round. The 49ers have won 11 straight games coming in, including six straight started by seventh-round rookie Brock Purdy.

San Fran’s new pivot has taken the league by storm and has done so by getting the ball to his stud playmakers and letting them create. The challenge on Sunday is his most daunting yet, as the Cowboys’ defense is fierce. That should cause George Kittle to assume more of a blocking role, reducing his pass-catching ceiling.

Kittle currently has an over/under receptions prop of 3.5 in the Cowboys vs 49ers player props. That’s one less than fellow Niner Deebo Samuel – more on him later, and the same number as teammate Brandon Aiyuk.

Cowboys vs 49ers Props: George Kittle Under 3.5 Receptions

Dallas led the NFL in pressure rate this season. They’re fast and athletic at virtually every defensive position and they blitz on over 25% of their defensive snaps.

San Francisco’s number one priority on offense is going to be to keep Purdy clean, and the best way to do that is to leave extra bodies into protect. That’s going to be Kittle’s fate on more snaps than usual, meaning he’s going to run fewer routes.

Less routes equals less opportunity and even when he does run a route the matchup isn’t favorable. That’s because he’s going to see plenty of Jayron Kearse, one of the few safeties in the league that can go toe-to-toe with him.

Pick: George Kittle Under 3.5 Receptions (+105), 1 unit

Cowboys vs 49ers Props: Jake Ferguson Over 3.5 Receiving Yards

We’ll keep this next prop short. San Francisco is one of the best teams at defending 11-personnel (3 WR, 1 TE, 1 RB). They are on the worst at defending 12-personnel (2 WR, 2 TE, 1 RB).

We know this, so Dallas does too. That’s going to prompt them to run more two tight end sets, opening up more playing time for Jake Ferguson.

Jake Ferguson Stats – Last 4 Games

REC TGT YDS TD
1 1 34 0
1 1 4 0
1 1 7 0
1 1 24 0

One catch will get us over his receiving yards prop in all likelihood. He’s exceeded 3.5 yards in four straight games, and in six of his last seven contests overall.

Pick: Jake Ferguson Over 3.5 Receiving Yards (-115), 1 unit

Cowboys vs 49ers TD Props

Noah Brown (DAL) +4000 +700

As far as the anytime TD market goes, Christian McCaffrey is the favorite at -155. CMC’s been a TD machine since he joined San Francisco, but those odds are a bit too short even if the 49ers are 4-point favorites.

Cowboys vs 49ers Props: Deebo Samuel Anytime TD

Right below him however, sits Deebo Samuel who has a more appealing price tag. Samuel led the Niners in catches and targets last week, going for six catches, 133 receiving yards and a score. He also chipped in 32 rushing yards on three carries making him a threat to score through the air and on the ground.

Sunday’s matchup should be a favorable one for Samuel. Over the final four weeks of the season, Dallas allowed the fourth most yards to enemy wide receivers. Samuel scored in last year’s playoffs against the Cowboys and is a strong bet to do so again in the Divisional Round.

Pick: Deebo Samuel Anytime TD (+135), 1 unit

Divisional Round Player Props Record: 0-3, -2.5 units
