It’s only two days after Conference Championship Weekend, but already every possible angle of Super Bowl 57 is being dissected. The weather is at the top of the list, as bettors desperately want to know if the forecast projects to give one team a leg up on the other.

In that light, there’s good news and bad news. The good news is that the forecast looks perfect. The bad news is that both of these teams are so good, that ideal playing conditions don’t offer an advantage to either side.

Super Bowl 57 Weather Forecast

As of Monday afternoon, 63-degree temperatures are projected at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. There’s a minimal 10% chance of rain and tame 6-mile-per-hour winds. There have been numerous wind studies done over the years on its impact on NFL offenses, and it’s been proven there’s no noticeable decline in performance in sustained winds under 15 mph.

The last time a Super Bowl was held in this stadium was eight years ago. The weather conditions were incredibly similar, and the game turned into a high-scoring affair. The Patriots defeated the Seahawks 28-24, in a game highlighted by Seattle’s decision to throw down by the goal line in the dying seconds which resulted in a game-clinching interception.

Why Weather Won’t Matter for Super Bowl 57

Things can obviously change over the next two weeks, but even if the weather forecast goes sideways it’s not going to affect the play on the field. State Farm Stadium features a retractable roof, meaning the event organizers will have the ability to control the conditions to ensure the best product is displayed on the field.

Speaking of the field itself, State Farm Stadium also features a retractable playing field. Roll-out natural grass is the playing surface that has the feel and playability of natural grass. Both the Eagles and Chiefs play in outdoor, natural grass stadiums, and will feel very comfortable in this type of environment.

Eagles vs Chiefs Recent History at State Farm Stadium

Philadelphia and Kansas City have already played a game at State Farm Stadium this season. Both teams emerged victorious in their matchup over Arizona, and the Eagles have played twice in this venue in the past three years.

Earlier this season, they took down the Cardinals 20-17. It was far from their best offensive effort, as they managed only two second-half field goals and were outgained by Arizona. Jalen Hurts threw for an underwhelming 239 yards but made up for it with his legs. He rushed the ball 15 times for 61 yards and 2 TD.

Back in 2020, Hurts and Philly had more offensive success at State Farm Stadium, albeit in a losing effort. Hurts threw for 338 yards and three touchdowns, rushing for an additional 63 yards and a score. Philly dropped that game 33-26 but is a much more complete team today.

The Chiefs meanwhile, had their second-biggest output of the season at State Farm Stadium. KC put up 488 yards in a 44-21 thrashing of the Cardinals in Week 1. Patrick Mahomes threw for 360 yards and a season-best 5 TD, while Travis Kelce caught eight balls for 121 yards and a score.

Bottom-line, both of these teams are going to feel right at home in Super Bowl 57. There are no weather concerns, the footing will be ideal and we should expect plenty of points. That’s the way the market is trending as well in the Super Bowl odds. This game’s total opened up at 48.5 and has already been bet up to 50.
