The Eagles are just 2-4 this season as favorites. Dallas has lost its last three games as favorites straight-up and, obviously, against the spread.

Six of the last seven meetings between these two teams have hit the over.

Rush will be pressed into duty as the Cowboys starting quarterback for the near future as Dak Prescott has gone on injured reserve with a hamstring injury. The injury may require surgery…and the Cowboys could be out of the playoff chase in a few weeks, so bringing Dak back may be a moot point.

Rush, in his seventh year out of Central Michigan, is actually 5-1 as a starter for Dallas. He doesn’t move as well as Prescott, but he’s steady.

Philly has been riding the legs of Saquon Barkley to second in the NFC East behind the (checks notes) Washington Commanders. Barkley leads the NFL in yards per game on the ground with 115.6 and backward hurdles over tacklers. He’s an MVP candidate.

One more note if you’re looking at Barkley on a prop bet. When he was a Giant, Barkley played the Cowboys 10 times and only went over 100 yards twice. Was that the Giants bad offensive line? Or does Dallas have a way to stop him?

The Big D in Philly

Yes, Barkley has been the star in Philly since coming over, but the main reason for the Eagles success in 2024 has been the play of the defense.

Philly’s defense ranks No. 3 in the NFL in yards allowed. Josh Sweat has five sacks and linebacker Zack Baun has become that player every NFL defense needs, ranging side to side to make plays.

Philly fans still can’t figure out Coach Nick Sirianni. He makes some questionable decisions, but the offense is still talented. Sometimes it feels like the Eagles win in spite of their coach.

Flop Cowboys Flop

The vibes in Dallas have been bad from the start. A blowout loss to the Saints in Week 2, another blowout loss to the Lions. The Cowboys defense ranks second to last in points allowed. It should get Micah Parsons back for Sunday and that will help. He’s been exposed this season against the run, but he does make big plays.

Dallas had off-the-field issues with Ezekiel Elliott, leaving him home last week for disciplinary reasons, but he’s back for Sunday, but he looks a step slow.

The whole Cowboys offense is WR CeeDee Lamb, who is fifth in receiving yards with 660. Cooper Rush isn’t walking into a great situation here.

Philadelphia Eagles vs Dallas Cowboys Predictions

  • Eagles -7.0 (at BetMGM)
  • Over 43.5 (at BetMGM)

The wheels have fallen off in Dallas. That’s how quickly things can change in the NFL. Dallas has no running game and a defense that can’t get off the field.

Coach Mike McCarty could be in jeopardy with another bad loss. Bill Belichick is still sitting out there just waiting.

We know the Eagles have played some teams close and Sirianni hinted this week that QB Jalen Hurts isn’t 100 percent, but the Eagles will be all over Dallas Sunday. The Cowboys are on the ropes and the Eagles will knock them out.
