- Puka Nacua and Ashton Jeanty lead my early NFL props to target for Week 9
- Las Vegas gave Mike Washington 25 carries Sunday, a big change for its backfield
- My third target comes from the Bengals–Falcons game in Madrid
Puka Nacua caught 11 passes for 80 yards Sunday. Ashton Jeanty got two carries. Those are the performances I’m looking at first as sportsbooks put up their Week 9 props.
I’ve picked out three early NFL props for Sunday, November 8, including one from the morning game in Madrid. Here’s what I want to bet and the numbers I’m looking for.
NFL Week 9 Props to Target
These are my own estimated targets rather than posted sportsbook lines. Check the actual number and the price attached to it before betting any of them.
Have a few NFL betting apps open when these markets go live, because reception props can differ by a full catch from one book to the next. New customers can start with the BetMGM promo code.
Week 9 NFL Prop Picks: Puka Nacua Receptions
Nacua has 56 catches for 565 yards and three touchdowns in six games. That’s 9.3 receptions per game, comfortably above the eight catches I need at a 7.5 target.
He has reached eight catches in four of his last five appearances.
The 17-catch game helps his average, but this isn’t a bet built on that one afternoon. Remove it and he still reached eight catches in three of the other four games.
Against the Chargers, his 11 catches produced 80 yards and a touchdown. The catches are what interest me most for this week’s prop: he finished three above the eight needed at my target.
That’s the argument for playing total receptions odds with him instead of a receiving yards line. A reception counts the same whether it gains two yards or 20. I’d rather back his catch production than need a particular yardage total against Washington.
Los Angeles is at Washington at 1 p.m. ET Sunday. This is my favorite play of the three.
- Early Bet: Puka Nacua over 7.5 receptions (estimated target)
Early NFL Props: Ashton Jeanty Rushing Yards
Jeanty is at 108 carries for 337 rushing yards and one touchdown through eight games. At that 3.1-yard average, it would take about 16 carries to reach 49 yards. He hasn’t had more than 10 in any of his last four games.
Here’s how the last month has gone for him on the ground.
He opened the season with 23 and 21 carries. His recent workload gives me a reason to target this under beyond Sunday’s two-carry game.
Against the Jets it was Mike Washington carrying 25 times for 83 yards. Jeanty did catch three passes for 64 yards, but those yards came through the air.
That receiving work doesn’t help a rushing prop. He’s finished below 48.5 rushing yards in five of eight games this season, and the last four weren’t close.
San Francisco makes it harder. The 49ers have allowed 623 rushing yards on 179 attempts through seven games, 3.5 yards per carry, and Las Vegas is there at 4:25 p.m. ET Sunday.
- Early Bet: Ashton Jeanty under 48.5 rushing yards (estimated target)
NFL Week 9 Props to Target: Chase Brown Receptions
Brown has 36 catches for 189 yards in seven games. That works out to 5.1 catches per game but only 5.3 yards per reception. I’m interested in the catches here.
Brown caught eight passes for 46 yards against Tennessee. A receptions bet rewards all eight of those catches without asking him to turn them into a big yardage day.
He also caught four passes against Baltimore the week before. That gives him consecutive games at or above the four catches this target requires, with 12 receptions across those two appearances.
Four catches sits below his season pace of better than five per game. Cincinnati plays Atlanta in Madrid at 9:30 a.m. ET Sunday, and I’ll take the over.
- Early Bet: Chase Brown over 3.5 receptions (estimated target)
