- It is Week 2 of the new NFL season and there are some big names on the injured list
- The Indianapolis Colts will be without wideouts Michael Pittman Jr and Alec Pierce
- Below, see the names on the NFL Week 2 injury report and inactives
The big news on the NFL injury report entering Week 1 was the number of wideouts who were out. To paraphrase Herman’s Hermits, entering Week 2, it’s second verse, same as the first.
A number of the top NFL targets are being targeted with ailments. Wide receivers Michael Pittman Jr (quad) and Alec Pierce (concussion) have both been ruled out for the Indianapolis Colts. Rondale Moore of the Arizona Cardinals will be out for a few more weeks.
As well, Julio Jones (knee) of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers is out and Gabriel Davis (ankle) of the Buffalo Bills has been added to the injury report of those teams.

San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle (groin) is not expected to play for the second successive week. The New Orleans Saints are anticipating that running back Alvin Kamara (ribs) will not be playing for Week 2 of the NFL season.
On a more positive note, wide receivers Allen Lazard (ankle) of the Green Bay Packers and Tee Higgins (concussion) of the Cincinnati Bengals, running back Najee Harris (foot) of the Pittsburgh Steelers, New York Giants WR Kadarius Toney (hamstring) and defensive end JJ Watt (calf) of the Cardinals are all expected to play.
Let’s take a look at the prominent names on the Week 2 injury report and how it’s impacting the NFL odds.

Week 1 Inactives
The Lions are reporting that RB D’Andre Swift (ankle) will be playing this week, but only in certain situations. He carried 15 times for 144 yards and a touchdown in Detroit’s 38-35 Week 1 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. Swift also caught three passes for 31 yards. The Lions are 1.5-point home favorites over the Washington Commanders. It’s the first time Detroit’s been favored in 24 NFL regular-season games.
DET RB D’Andre Swift is PFF’s #1 Highest Ranked Week 1 RB with both an 82.3 Overall Grade and 87.9 Rushing Grade.
He recorded 6.53 Yards After Contact Per Carry (2nd), 6 Forced Missed Tackles (4th), 5 10+ yard runs (2nd), and had a 290.4 Elusive Rating (2nd). pic.twitter.com/mqpeLnpTs3

A 2.5-point favorite over the Saints, the Buccaneers are playing without WRs Jones and Chris Godwin (hamstring). However, the Buccaneers remain optimistic that fellow wideout Mike Evans (calf) will be good to go. The Saints are missing Kamara. Fellow RB Mark Ingram (ankle) was listed as questionable but will play. Quarterback Jameis Winston (back) is cleared to play.
Saints’ RB Alvin Kamara, listed as questionable for Sunday due to a rib injury, is not expected to play vs. the Buccaneers, per source.

The Atlanta Falcons are placing RB Damien Williams (ribs) on the IR. That is making versatile Atlanta RB Cordarrelle Patterson an even more inviting play in the Week 2 NFL player props. The Falcons are 10-point road underdogs facing the reigning Super Bowl champion Los Angeles Rams.
The 49ers are again missing Kittle and that’s big news. San Francisco is 6-9 straight up when Kittle doesn’t play. There’s much better news for their NFL Week 2 opponents the Seattle Seahawks. Seattle rookie running back Kenneth Walker III (hernia) has been removed from the team’s injury report. He’ll be making his NFL debut for the Seahawks, who are 9-point road underdogs at the 49ers.
