Odds as of November 23rd at BetMGM

The Dallas Cowboys enter this Thanksgiving Day match-up as 9.5-point favorites, while the total sits at 45.5. At, +310 odds to win the game, a ton of value lies with the New York Giants. The betting public seems to agree, as currently on Wednesday, 63% of bettors like the Giants to cover the spread.

New York Giants Betting Trends

As the early front-runner for coach of the year, Brian Daboll has his Giants playing hard. New York seems to pull victories from the jaws of defeat and play extremely disciplined football for their first-year coach.

Unfortunately, the wheels have fallen off this feel-good story over the past few weeks. First, a 27-13 drubbing at the hands of the Seattle Seahawks. Somehow, the Giants’ offense could only muster 3.5 yards per play against a porous Seahawks’ defense. The G-Men followed that up with a close victory over the lowly Houston Texans, in which Saquon Barkley carried the ball 35 times for 152 yards. Finally, New York took a beating from the now 4-6 Detroit Lions last week, bringing this team full circle.

Barkley carried the ball 15 times for a measly 22 yards against Detroit last week. Proving that as their star running back goes, so does this Giants’ offense.

That being said, the G-Men should be able to take advantage of a vulnerable Dallas rushing defense. While the Cowboys are phenomenal at rushing the passer, they rank just 26th in the league against the run, allowing over 136 yards per game. New York will need to unleash Barkley and control the clock the pull off the upset on Thursday afternoon.

Still, the betting trends do not look good for the Giants. New York is just 3-7 in picks against the spread in their last 10 meetings versus the NFC.

Dallas Cowboys Betting Trends

Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys are riding high. After all, the Cowboys are coming off the largest road victory in franchise history last week.

The Cowboys’ defense dominated last week’s game, holding the high-powered Vikings offense to just 180 total yards and pressuring Kirk Cousins on over 60 percent of his dropbacks. If Dallas can recreate that performance on Thursday, it will be incredibly difficult for Daniel Jones and the Giants’ offense to generate points.

Additionally, Ezekiel Elliott’s injury has allowed fourth-year back Tony Pollard to take over the Cowboys backfield, to devastating effect. Pollard has totaled 701 rushing yards with 6 touchdowns on nearly 6 yards per carry on the year. The 25-year-old has been a threat in the passing game as well, adding 21 catches for 243 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Dallas has the offensive and defensive weapons to put this game out of reach quickly. Curtailing the pass-rushing efforts of these Cowboys is easier said than done. Besides, the Cowboys are 4-0 against the spread in their last four games played at AT&T Stadium.

New York Giants vs Dallas Cowboys Prediction

Although it appears these teams are headed in opposite directions, this spread is too large. An energizing victory over the Vikings will lead to the Cowboys will be slow out of the gate in this one. Look for Saquon Barkley to get loose early and the Giants to cover the spread.
