NFL DFS Week 2 Lineup: DraftKings Picks for Sunday
By Daniel Destler in NFL News
Published:
Week 2 of the NFL season is here, and there are plenty of opportunities to find value on the DraftKings Fantasy main slate. This lineup blends high-volume stars, affordable upside plays, and a few lower-priced options to free up salary for the top of the roster.
The lineup comes in at exactly $50,000, leaving no salary on the table. Here are my DraftKings NFL best daily fantasy picks for Sunday’s Week 2 slate.
DraftKings NFL DFS Week 1 Lineup
Brock Purdy ($6,200)
Purdy is one of my favorite quarterback values on the Week 2 slate at $6,200. San Francisco opened the season with a convincing 27-7 win over the Rams, and Purdy threw three touchdown passes.
Now he gets a Miami defense that allowed 27 points to Las Vegas in Week 1. The Dolphins also gave up plenty of offensive production in their 27-13 loss to the Raiders.
Purdy’s $6,200 salary is especially appealing because the DraftKings lineup doesn’t need him to be the slate’s highest-scoring quarterback. With San Francisco playing at home and the 49ers coming off a seven-point defensive performance against the Rams, Purdy has both floor and ceiling at a reasonable price.
De’Von Achane ($6,700)
I’m willing to target Achane despite the difficult matchup against San Francisco. His biggest advantage is his receiving ability, which gives him a way to score fantasy points even if Miami struggles to run the football.
At $6,700, Achane is priced below the most expensive running backs despite possessing legitimate slate-breaking speed. He also has a 20.9 FPPG figure shown in the pool, making him one of the higher-upside options at his salary.
Ashton Jeanty ($6,800)
Jeanty is another running back I’m targeting because he can rack up points in multiple ways. He enters Week 2 after the Raiders’ 27-13 victory over Miami, giving Las Vegas an early indication that its new-look offense can support its young running back.
The matchup against the Chargers is tougher, with the DK slate listing the Chargers as the No. 4 matchup by OPRK for running backs. Still, Jeanty’s expected workload makes him difficult to ignore at $6,800.
Jalen Coker ($5,100)
Coker is one of the most obvious value plays on this roster after his massive Week 1 performance. He caught eight of nine targets for 138 yards and two touchdowns against Chicago, emerging as one of Bryce Young’s most productive options.
Even more encouraging for DFS purposes was his usage. Coker played 84% of Carolina’s offensive snaps, according to analysis after Week 1, suggesting his production wasn’t simply the result of a handful of random opportunities.
Emeka Egbuka ($6,400)
Egbuka is another wide receiver whose Week 1 usage makes him interesting at this salary. The Tampa Bay rookie caught five passes for 63 yards on six targets in his NFL debut, leading the Buccaneers in receiving yards.
At $6,400, Egbuka sits in a useful middle tier at wide receiver. His six targets in Week 1 give him a reasonable floor, while increased involvement in Tampa Bay’s passing attack could give him considerably more upside.
Mike Evans ($6,600)
Evans had an encouraging debut with the 49ers and immediately showed why San Francisco brought him in. In the 49ers’ 27-7 Week 1 win over the Rams, Evans caught 6 of 7 targets for 49 yards and a touchdown. He also recorded a 13-yard-long reception, giving him a solid 10.9 fantasy points from his receiving production and touchdown.
The biggest takeaway from Evans’ debut was his involvement in Brock Purdy’s passing game. He finished with seven targets, tying for a significant role in an offense that also features Christian McCaffrey, Deebo Samuel, and George Kittle. Purdy ultimately threw for 205 yards and three touchdowns, with Evans scoring one of them.
Now Evans gets a matchup with Miami, which makes the $6,600 salary particularly interesting. If Purdy continues to distribute the ball efficiently, Evans has a strong chance to see another healthy target total.
Harold Fannin Jr. ($4,100)
Fannin is the salary-saving play at tight end. Cleveland’s offense struggled in Week 1, scoring just 10 points against Jacksonville, but I’m willing to look past that performance at $4,100.
The Browns now travel to Tampa Bay, and the player pool prices Fannin at $4,100, making him one of the cheapest ways to get exposure to Cleveland’s passing game.
Rashid Shaheed ($4,300)
Shaheed is another salary-saving wide receiver with big-play potential. At $4,300, he gives this lineup exposure to a player who can reach value on relatively few touches.
The matchup against Arizona is listed at No. 16 in DraftKings’ OPRK rankings for the position, so this isn’t necessarily a smash matchup. That’s reflected in his inexpensive salary.
San Francisco 49ers DST ($3,800)
The 49ers defense rounds out the lineup at $3,800, and there’s plenty to like after what we saw in Week 1.
San Francisco held the Rams to just seven points and 290 total yards in a 27-7 victory. The defense also stopped Matthew Stafford on a fourth-down quarterback sneak from the San Francisco 1-yard line.
Now the 49ers return home to face Miami, which scored only 13 points in its Week 1 loss to Las Vegas. That gives San Francisco a path to fantasy production through sacks, turnovers, and potentially another low-scoring effort from its opponent. At $3,800, I’m willing to pay a little more for the 49ers’ defensive upside.
