The NFL preseason will conclude for the Green Bay Packers when they travel to Orchard Park, New York to take on the Buffalo Bills. Kickoff is from Highmark Stadium and is scheduled for 1:00 pm ET on NFL Network.

These two teams could not have taken more different approaches to the preseason. Green Bay has yet to be competitive in their two loses with the latest coming 23-14 at the hands of the New York Jets. The Bills, on the other hand, have looked like they think these games count. Last time out, they demolished the Chicago Bears 41-15 in a game that wasn’t even as close as the score indicated.

Green Bay Packers vs Buffalo Bills Odds

Team Spread Moneyline Total
Green Bay Packers +9.5 (-110) +320 O 36.5 (-110)
Buffalo Bills -9.5 (-110) -425 U 36.5 (-110)

Odds as of August 26th at DraftKings.

The Buffalo Bills are 9.5-point favorites and the total is currently 35. Buffalo opened at 4.5 at some shops and has been bet up to close to double digits after it was announced that the Bills would play their starters. The total also shot up a couple points from 34.5 to 36.5 with the news.

Green Bay Packers’ Quarterbacks

We all know the quarterback is the most important position on the field and it still holds true in the preseason. That’s one reason the Packers are 0-2 with losses to the lowly Houston Texans and New York Jets. Future hall of famer, Aaron Rodgers, has yet to suit up nor will he Saturday against the Bills. Fret not Packers fans, he is still good.

We should see a lot of Jordan Love against the Bills on Saturday. Love was hurt in the first preseason game but he made it through a full practice in pads on Thursday which is a great sign. He looked good against the Texans going 11-17 for 122 yards and a touchdown. His presence will give the Packers a spark before he is relieved by Kurt Benkert in the second half.

Buffalo Bills’ Quarterbacks

The heart and soul of the Buffalo Bills is Josh Allen. He has yet to play a snap in the preseason but that has not stopped the Bills from rolling teams. The 41-15 beating of the Chicago Bears last week was only made more impressive by the fact that Allen didn’t play. After getting in plenty of handshake reps this preseason, he will finally see some live action in a game.

Who knows how long Allen will be on the field Saturday but we do know one thing; the Bears are in good hands when he leaves the game. Backup Mitch Trubisky looked fantastic in last week’s win over his former team going 20-28 for 221 yards and a touchdown. He also added 11 yards on the ground. If Allen and Trubisky play three quarters, combined, the Bills should be able to score some points before Davis Webb or Jake Fromm take over.

Who Else?

If you’ve watched either one of the Packers’ first two preseason games then you know the name, Malik Taylor. Davante Adams won’t be in uniform for this one and neither will Devin Funchess so we are highly likely to watch Taylor go to work again Saturday. This time he will get some time Jordan Love which can only help his stock. He’s been so good this preseason, at this point Taylor might actually make the 53-man roster.

On the Bills side it has to be Stefon Diggs since we will be seeing Josh Allen. He was the Bills most explosive weapon on offense last season and if he is in this game for any amount of time, he is likely to impact the outcome. All reports out of Bills’ camp is that Diggs is almost fully healthy and looking like the stud he was last season.

Green Bay Packers vs Buffalo Bills Best Bet

With the tempo the Buffalo Bills played with last week, the over is the play here. I’m not being hyperbolic when I say that the Bills could actually cover this themselves. They did last week against the Bears. I don’t think they will have to though since we should see Jordan Love for awhile in this one. If he can get the Packers on the board once or twice, this one will fly over the low total.

Pick: Packers/Bills Over 36.5 (-110)
