Welcome back to Payton’s Plays! Gary‘s been a bit snakebitten of late, but that’s just the nature of the NFL and its constant quest for parity. Will Week 4 see a return to normalcy or will teams like the Bills continue pull big upsets? The Glove dives into his best bets for Week 4 action. Read on to find out which squads the Glove is loving this Sunday. Take it away, Gary …

Los Angeles at Arizona (-380)

Peeyoo! The Cards laid a stinker last week (33-18 loss to the Bills). Carson Palmer threw four picks and didn’t find the end zone once. The defense got lit up by Shady McCoy, Tyrod Taylor, and Buffalo running game. But now the defending NFC West champs are coming back home, and they’re getting the Rams.

LA has won two straight, but they’re not a great team. Todd Gurley might be a beast. Case Keenum on the other hand is the least. He won’t be able to do to the Zona D what Taylor did – especially with his feet – that means Arizona’s D can focus on stopping Gurley.

Palmer had two real solid games against the Rams last year. He threw for over 350 yards in both of ’em. He’s gonna bounce back and Arizona’s gonna take care of business at home.

Pick: Arizona (-380).

Carolina (-165) at Atlanta

I took the Panthers last week and they got completely shutdown by Minnesota. They’re now a game behind Atlanta in the NFC South.

But I still believe in Cam and this offense. They weren’t the highest scoring team in the league last year for no reason. Cam’s one-of-a-kind and he can take over a game. He didn’t last week, but that’s because Minnesota’s defense was better than I thought they’d be. They might be the best D in the league. (Sorry Broncs!)

Atlanta’s defense? Not so much, y’all. Matty Ice has their offense humming, but the D is giving up big points every week. The Atlanta running backs went off last week. My boys Luke Kuechly and Thomas Davis Sr. will keep them in check on Sunday. Kelvin Benjamin didn’t catch a pass against Minnesota. He’s gonna come out angry and put up big numbers against a bad Falcon secondary.

Take the Panthers to get back in the NFC South mix.

Pick: Carolina (-165).
