  • The Baltimore Ravens and Kansas City Chiefs are both among the Top 10 Super Bowl favorites
  • The Ravens-Chiefs line has been between -5 and -7 this week
  • Find out who you should target now with the Chiefs becoming a smaller favorite

The marquee contest of Week 3 is the Baltimore Ravens-Kansas City Chiefs contest. As the week has progressed, we’ve seen a lot of movement in the betting line as it opened -5.5 at BookMaker, climbed to -7 but is now down to Chiefs -5. What’s the best bet in this game?

Ravens vs Chiefs Odds at BookMaker

Team Spread Moneyline Total
Baltimore Ravens +5 (-110) +199 Over 52 (-106)
Kansas City Chiefs -5 (-110) -240 Under 52 (-102)

*Odds taken 09/19/19 .

Ravens Have Rolled in First Two Games

The Ravens were expected to finish behind the Cleveland Browns and Pittsburgh Steelers in their division. However, after two weeks, they’ve smoked their first two opponents by a combined score of 82-27 while the Browns and Steelers are a combined 1-3.

What’s been most impressive about the Ravens has been the play of quarterback Lamar Jackson, who was mostly a run-first quarterback in his rookie season. This season, he’s been an incredible pocket passer. He’s completed 71.9% of his passes, averaging 10.5 per attempt. He has seven touchdowns and zero interceptions.

Not only is he playing at an MVP-caliber level, the Ravens have developed a strong cast around him. Rookie Marquise Brown and second-year tight end Mark Andrews have been two of the best players at their respective positions so far. If the Ravens can maintain their level of play, they’ll have a good chance to win in Kansas City.

Chiefs, Mahomes have Looked Unstoppable

One of the reasons why Jackson isn’t the front runner early on in the MVP race is because Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes has been playing out of his mind. He’s thrown for over 300 yards in the first half of each of his first two games, totalling 821 passing yards so far with seven touchdowns.

Nothing seems to slow this offense down as they’ll be without Tyreek Hill and Damien Williams on Sunday. They played without Hill last week and looked fine as Mahomes had 278 passing yards and four touchdowns in the second quarter alone. And even though Williams is out, LeSean McCoy and rookie Darwin Thompson are capable.

The challenge for them this week is their defense will get a stern test. They’ve faced the Jacksonville Jaguars and Oakland Raiders in their first two contests. The Ravens offense should be the most prolific unit they’ve seen to date.

What’s the Best Bet?

After taking into account the Ravens vs Chiefs odds & stats, I’m willing to lay the points with the Chiefs here. Mahomes is unstoppable right now and I’m concerned that the Ravens have played nobody. They stomped Miami and then barely beat the Arizona Cardinals last week.

This week, they’re going on the road and this will be a tough spot for them to navigate. At over a touchdown, I liked the dog in this spot. Now that the Chiefs are down to -5, I’ll lay the points.

The pick: Chiefs -5 (-110)
